The house is not open to the public so there is nothing really interesting to see which was disappointing. However there is a brochure about its history.

Only the ground-floor of this fine historic wooden house is open to the public. It takes no time at all to buzz through the rooms with their scanty array of nineteenth-century furniture; a little longer if you stop and read all of the history notes. An atmospheric place this, which could be further exploited to give a fuller picture of... More

Toured the Thursby House while visiting Blue Springs State Park to see the Manatees. An interesting side light to this trip. Informational.

It was just an old house with a few artifacts and some info about life in the olden days. Took me about ten minutes to go through the house. Kind of interesting reading the info in the cases. No furniture, jyst some stives and kitchen stuff.

The place is locked & other than the front porch- off limits to visitors. Peek in the windows and you will see- nothing!

The Thursby House is just one of the many things Blue Springs State Park has to offer. It was inaccessible for many years, but the state has gone through and created a museum type walk-through with all manner of furnishings and ware customary to original Florida.

I mentioned this when I reviewed Blue Springs Park as it is located on the park grounds. It was an interesting place which had original fixtures from the era. There was no tour, you gave yourself a self guided one. There is information in the different rooms. I did enjoy it.

This home is on the Blue Springs State Park Grounds. Unfortunately, it is closed so you can only walk around the property and look into the windows. It would require a complete restoration in ordre to be a nice tour for visitors.

This is a beautiful old home and great example of days gone by. The self-guided tour is interesting, and it's fun to imagine what life was like what back when. And, the price is right. Blue Springs State Park is a real gem, a real treasure.

As soon as you walk into the musty odered house, all the energy is completely sucked out of you, and you feel depressed. I'm a person with clairvoyant abilities so I don't know if that makes a difference but this place is history. It's old. And you can feel the lives that once lived here. You can feel how old... More
