A cool place to visit: both bc of the air conditioning, and bc of the history! Clean. Pretty safe for a downtown venue. It is mostly regional, but it also has varying broader exhibits. Downtown area around it has a lot of historical buildings. Library next door is fabulous. Be vigilant outside, but have fun! The docents here are wonderful,... More

Takes about 2 1/2 hours to see this museum properly. Worth every minute! Absolutely wonderful exhibits starting from time periods 1000's of years ago to present day. Any time period you want is detailed extremely well. Old photos, period clothing, and many things used by people in that era are on display. Something for everyone, even a childs play area... More

What a great little place! I have lived in Central Florida most of my life and had no idea about this museum. Evidently it was converted from the courthouse in 1999. My oldest son had took a Boy Scout merit badge class on citizenship which they hold periodically at this location. The class was fantastic! But even better it gave... More

I visited this museum with my children primarily because of the good reviews. I'm glad we went for it because the place was very nice. Unlike many museums, this one took us at least 2.5 hours to go through. I feel that if we soaked everything in even more, it would have taken another 30 minutes or so. Many of... More

This museum presents the local history very well and in a easy to understand format. There are 3 floors to this museum and we gave it 2 hours to go through, which was just a bit of a tight schedule, I would suggest 2 1/2 hours. We parked in the parking garage on E Washington just across the street which... More

This was a nice walk through the history of Florida. There's a lot of reading to do if you really want to gain an understanding of the exhibits. The courtroom was amazing, and in my opinion the best part of the museum. There are 4 floors, elevators are available. Some of the pathways are tight if it's crowded, but the... More

I love this place. It is located in the old courthouse, and houses changing exhibits (I saw one on Gone With The Wind, and another year, they held a different exhibit every season on Universal Studios Florida), along with exhibits on the history or Orlando and Orange County. Visit on a weekend and parking is free. Price is right, and... More

I've been here once before, and I'm always pleased by the amount of detail put into the exhibits. If you're a FL native, you'll learn a great deal about the state. If you're a visitor, you'll be entertained by the NASA and Disney exhibits. There's lots of interactive stuff to keep everyone busy. And if you're a Bank of American... More
