We came upon this park quite by accident, but we sure are glad we found it. As if in a jungle, we came upon a huge sculpture of Chief TOMOKIE, where we were happily greeted by the Assistant Park Manager, Joe Issacs. He gave us the history of the sculpture and more. He definitely has a passion for his work,... More

We spent two nights camping with our children. Very well kept park. We took our kayaks and spent the day on the river. We were able to stop at several places to fish and picnic.

Our bicycling group made this trip along Old Dixie Highway and found the bigger than life statue of Chief Tomokie standing tall. You can rent kayaks, single and tandem, grab a bite to eat and just enjoy your day. Too bad they don't encourage hikers and bikers more, and just charge for parking

Small but enjoyable state park with numerous estuaries offering kayaking, fishing and hiking opportunities for the adventuresome.

We camped here for a couple of nights. Like others have said the sites are very tight and some difficult to get into. We did ok but only have a 26 foot RV. The park itself was very good with lots of water activities. A good place for a 2-4 day stop. BObK

Some sites are difficult to back into if you have more than a 30' unit. Staff are courteous and willing to help any way they can. The park store was adequate and open all the necessary hours. One thing the park could use is wifi.

The park is widespread for walking, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, campground is separated nicely from day use parts of the park. The camp store had a firepit and rocking chairs, very nice. Scott and his wife are awesome at the store. The boat ramp and sitting area on the deck looks so nice for warmer weather activity. We walked and explored... More

What a lovely, lovely state park. The sites are kinda close, but foliage does clearly separate them. The bathrooms are immaculate, and the general grounds are well maintained. The road could use a little love, but with all the nasty weather they had with the hurricane I'd say it was in very good shape. We paddled several times, the inner... More

We have been here about a week, our first site was really tight! So the ranger moved us to a larger site.then after a few days we moved to another, which was a nice site lots of trees. But don't wander into the woods . People have pooped in the woods and left toilet paper piles. Watch where you step.... More

It may seem like a bit of a drive to get up there, so just enjoy the ride. Park is a peaceful place to walk around and explore. You can drive right up to the statue for those that can't tolerate long hikes. It was a great place to explore flora/fauna with our grandson to teach him about nature.
