This small park is a treasure. Sitting directly on the Halifax River it is a bit of a fairy tale land. Shaded in most areas this well manicured park has paths which are adorned with native plants and flowers. A small bridge crisis over a babbling brook and beckons a closer look. It was here that the last living American Civil War full-rank general, Adelbert Ames, chose to build a home where he died in 1933 at the age of 97. A lovely little park for strolling through or just sit quietly and enjoy the day. Right across the street is another historic site in Ormond Beach, the Indian Burial Mound. A great site for watching shore birds, I often take photos here.

We discovered this delightful park while riding bicycles from the B&B we were staying at. The glimpses of history related by the display and surviving sculptures were a wonderful thing to learn about and see.

We found this quiet little park while looking for the Ormond Burial Mound. It had walking paths, a short pier, lots of concrete sculptures, a visitors shelter containing the history of the park and The Worlds Smallest Amphitheater. There is a small concrete structure at the waters edge that states, "a great place to enjoy the sun" and it actually... More
