Bear Creek Feline Center (BCFC) is home to Florida wildcats and exotic felines located in Panama City, FL. BCFC's mission is one of conservation breeding of selected species, feline rescue/re-homing and public education designed to illuminate the plight of threatened and endangered felines.

Much has happened since April 1, 2000, when BCFC was established under the giant oak trees here in the Bear Creek Community. We have logged thousands of hours to obtain five licenses and we now make permanent homes to exotic species of felines including the 3 native species of Florida. We work with the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission, the USDA and the Feline Conservation Federation to preserve and "Protect Florida's Wildlife Treasures".

"When was the last time you touched a bobcat or an African Serval?"

Tours are by Appointment only. BCFC invites you to an up close and personal visit with our Florida Panthers, North American Bobcats, African Servals, South American Geoffroy's Cats, Jaguarundis and Siberian Lynx. Cameras are encouraged. There are no additional charges for great photo opportunities. You'll see extremely rare felines, not normally seen in captivity. The FFWCC and the USDA permit some hands-on contact. Small children must be CLOSELY supervised at all times. Tours are scheduled BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes for your comfort and safety. A $50 donation per adult is customary ($25 for children under the age of 18). These donations are 100% earmarked for the care and feeding of the big cats. Special tour rates for photo ops, families and student groups upon request.

BCFC offers internships whereby selected individuals may gain experience preparatory for the Florida Fish & Wildlife Commission's licensing process. You may contact us by email for application and interview. You can check our website for an overview of what you can be doing and learning!

I've been wanting to visit this place for a few months and finally was able to coordinate the visit yesterday (2/12/17). They have 20 cats - bobcat, lynx, Florida panther, African serval, jaguarondi. All have been rescued or born at the facility. Jim trained with Jim Fowler of Animal Kingdom and is extremely knowledgeable about everything feline. Berti is very... More

This is a center for rescued wildcats who would have been euthanized had Jim and Bertie not taken them in. You can tell these big cats really love their home and their caretakers. Jim and Bertie are so knowledgeable and experienced, they answered every question with great detail and they put so much love into everything they do. It is... More

Jim and Berti who run the place are really nice down to earth people. They really know alot about the cats. It was a fun experience to climb in the cages and pet a Bob Cat! My nephew's 40th birthday was how we spent his day. He fed the Flordia Panther a chicken leg. It's not that expensive for the... More

If any part of you (or anyone you know) loves cats, big or small, the Bear Creek Feline Center is a place you need to see. I'm the kind of person that-on the rare occasions I do go on vacation-that goes reaching for those zoo and rehabilitation center pamphlets at the hotel. I love animals, and I love being around... this is a small facility but huge love and appreciation for their cats. Jim and Bertie love each and everyone and offer a quiet, peaceful, educational afternoon sharing their servals, lynx, panthers and bobcats. Everyone leaves there a friend of BCFC. If you are an animal person, you will enjoy it, if you are a cat person, you will love... More

My husband and I had never heard of this place. I've lived here since '07, him, all his life. They got a spot on the news, where he found out, and he immediately booked the private tour as a Christmas present to me. It's AMAZING! Who knew having a Serval drool on you would be such an honor? This is... More

Definitely take the time to visit this sacred space! No words can describe just how wonderful the work that is being done here to heal, rehabilitate, and preserve these cats after they began their lives so horribly at the hands of uncaring humans. Recommended for adults and teenagers. I would not recommend this visit for small children as there are... More
