This is a beautiful beach basically untouched. The name is deceiving, there are shells but not in abundance lol. The water is crystal clear though and there are many interesting things to see especially with a mask and snorkel.

Shell island was very pretty, but not at all what we expected. I guess the name leads you to believe there are shells as far as the eye can see, but that's not the case at all. We actually didnt see many shells here compared...More

We had a jet ski tour (2adults 2teens) to shell island. The sand was beautiful and many shells to choose from. I've read several reviews that there weren't enough shells to choose from. But truth be told, the view itself was good enough for me....More

To get there we went through the state park and got shuttled over by boat, after a short shuttle by bus (every 30 minutes). To get to the Gulf side there was about an 15 minute walk in the sand. The waves were to big...More

I love Shell Island. The shuttle ride over was nice. As a parent, I was able to relax and let my child enjoy the water. The island itself is beautiful. Definitely a must see on your vacation.

We visited as part of a tour but there are shuttles to the island that you can take. We have never been to the Gulf and this place was just wonderful. White sand and blue water and the shells were great too. There are no...More

We swim there as well. Beautiful area! You can take your pets there too. It is not really a party area like you see at Lake of the Ozarks in Party Cove. Mostly family oriented area with people with kids having a nice... More

I don't believe you can, it's part of the state park and you can't take them on the state park beach

you either have to have your own boat or rent a pontoon boat
