We spent time snorkeling just off the shore of the island. It is a gorgeous nature preserve. There is so much natural diversity. It's great for all ages.

We visited shell island several times during our stay. Pulled our boat up to shore and walked the beautiful beach looking for shells and sea life. Unfortunately, shells were few and far between for us.

Head towards Thomas Drive and keep on going until Thomas Drive dead ends at the state park entrance. They give rides to Shell Island from inside there. The state park has an excellent beach also.
