The Best View in Town! Climb 177 steps up the historic Pensacola Lighthouse & Museum for one of the most beautiful views on the Gulf Coast. Built in 1859, the lighthouse is located on board NAS Pensacola. The top of the tower offers stunning views of Pensacola Pass (where Pensacola Bay meets the Gulf of Mexico), three forts, the Pensacola skyline and the historic Navy Yard. The fully restored Keepers' Quarters, built in 1869, is home to a museum and a gift shop. Visit this historic spot in America's First Settlement, established in 1559. Make a day of it and visit the National Naval Aviation Museum and Fort Barrancas while you're here. Our nature walk takes you to the white sands of beautiful quiet-water beach–a perfect beach for kids. Bring the family and a picnic lunch and stay a while. The Pensacola Lighthouse and museum is open 7 days/week. Special tours include Blue Angel practices, Light of the Moon and Ghost Hunts. Private tour and function times available as well.

The Lighthouse and Museum are a surprise gem. Great history to be learned. All the women who maned the lighthouses. The view of Pensacola from the top is great. They are doing renovations but still can get everywhere.

Enjoy a climb up the spiral staircase and your reward is an amazing view of NW Florida. Add to your trip and you won’t be disappointed.

Whether you are interested in historic buildings or lighthouses or you just want to see some really cool sites, you should check out this lighthouse. The living quarters museum gives you a look into life back to the 1850s when this lighthouse was built. Then...More

The lighthouse is just down the road from the campgrounds. You can walk there from your RV. It's quite a few steps up to the top, but the view is magnificent. Lighthouses were always one of my mother's favorite things, so I try to visit...More

While not an expert in light houses in general, I have found myself detouring to see one more often than I may care to admit. This one was worth the visit admission fee and one of the best I have seen on my visits of...More

One of the oldest in America and what's nice it is so close to the National Navy Aviation Museum. A fine display of maritime history, well preserved makes this historical sight a must!!!

Great site to visit while here with interesting history. It's a big climb up to the top but the view is worth it.

I recommend climbing to the top just to say you did it. There's a little gift shop with some cool stuff. It's a nice stop after visiting the Air Museum.

Unfortunately children cannot be carried up; it's a Coast Guard regulation and a safety issue. Like you stated, what most guests do is take turns climbing; one or more in your party stays with the child/children while the... More
