We stopped in here not expecting much, but WOW! The fort is so interesting and really fascinating to walk thru. It is in great shape, so am assuming its had recent repairs and updates to it. Lots of history here. Wear walking shoes, as you could walk around it, in it, thru it, etc. all afternoon if you want to.... More

Wonderful day visiting this historic fort. The fort was in a great state of repair and was a lot of fun to visit. Grandson had a blast.

There are some interesting photographs to be had. Do not go off the walkways or you;ll get burrs. The history is well described on the signs. Since you are on the base, why not go see it?

We visited this with the family today. It was $15 for a car load which is a great value since Ft. Pickens, National seashore and Pensacola lighthouse are all included with this for 7 days. For a family of 3 it isn't bad. Plus it goes for preservation! If you have a Passport to our national parks, this is a... More

This is a nice stop to spend an hour or two just browsing this cool fort made entirely o brick. It is a bit pricey if you do just this stop. It runs $7.00 per adult or $15.00 for the car load. We paid $15.00. For that price, you also get seven (7) days admission for here and get to... More

Visited a week ago, it's an ok site. There are steps because of its age, not too sure if wheelchair happy. Worth a visit if you like history. Also a little bit eerie.....

We were visiting our son on the NAS Pcola Base and decided to check it out. It was very interesting to walk around and get some insight into the history of the Fort. Worth the visit.

We just stumbled on this and decided to go in because it is part of the National Park Service. The staff know all about the history and gave such detail. It was amazing how good they were at telling the story about all of the forts and how important they were. He even talked about skipping cannon balls across the... More

I visited at the beginning of summer, before the crowds descended. Fort Barrancas is on Pensacola Naval Air Station, so anticipate that as well. The fort is very well-preserved, and is right on the Gulf. Be prepared for steps and awkward angles (remember, it's a fort). The location is nicely isolated, and quite beautiful.
