Full of history and interesting to see but wish there was a guided or audio tour available. It could have been much more informative.

Most people don't know that St Augustine has been around since the early 16th century. The Castillo is a spectacular historical landmark, and beautifully preserved. Lots to see inside and around. The guides are superb.

Though I only live 30 minutes away from this fort and have visited so many times, I still learn something new every time. It's such and important historical place and resourse for our country.

The Castillo puts on a re-enactment of the Spanish forces defending the fort against the British, every afternoon. They have men in period costume fire off long guns, and then a cannon. Very cool.

Lots to learn. Love those dedicated Park Rangers. It was a beautiful spot overlooking the water. Great way to get some history.

We visited the fort as part of a visit to St. Augustine. It was interesting and provided an insight into Spain's control over Florida. However, it was just OK and didn't wow us. A group of local volunteers shoot off the canon several times a day and go through what they assert is the process used by the Spanish soldiers,... More

Since our family loves history, it was an obvious place to visit. While there's nothing here that would be called "entertaining" its history was rich and the view beautiful. My sons aged 9, 11, 13, 14 and 16 enjoyed it.

For me if you have seen one fort you have just about seen them all. The one thing I can say about Castillo de San Marcos is that it is on the tour route so you can be dropped off and picked back up when you are done. If you are driving there are a lot of parking spaces surrounding... More

We thoroughly enjoyed strolling through and around the fort. It is obvious that they take great care to preserve this fort and are able to let us see what life was like when it was built and used through the years. Very interesting for history buffs.
