The Lightner Museum is a fascinating place and was the perfect sightseeing stop for me. The Museum is located in the building which at one time was the Hotel Alcazar. It is my understanding Mr. Lightner, a huge collector, saw the boarded up Hotel when he was staying at the exclusive hotel across the street, The Ponce de Leon (now... More

Fantastic!! Extremely interesting place. Lightner was a very rich, upscale horder. He filled one mansion with stuff he collected and then bought another mansion and filled it up. Years later bought this beautiful, old hotel in St. Augustine to store it all. Items have been sorted and cataloged. Many rooms of priceless and beautiful items. A must see while in... More

Wonderful diversified museum. Covers three floors of what was a very luxurious hotel of it's time. Very surprised of all the different collections. Need a minimum of two hours to see all.

My husband and I couldn't be happier with our wedding 11/26/16 in the courtyard of The Lightner Museum. Everyone from the venue to the caterer was just perfect. St. Augustine is very special to us and we are very grateful to have been able to get married in the heart of the city.

I am a photographer and I found so much to keep me and my camera occupied. There is so much beauty in this area. The history is rich. It is a great place to bring the family too.

Explore the 3 floors of beautiful displays. Crystal, music boxes, China, artifacts, etc...We attended the music demonstration showing how music was produced using working antiques. Very interesting.

What an amazing collection of antiquities! The entrance is romantic and weddings are held there. Inside there are four levels to the museum. There are stairs or elevators. This was an old hotel and some areas of that hotel are still intact.

From a collection of cigar box labels to a collection of mechanical musical instruments, The Lightner has something for everyone. The building and its history is a treasure in itself. Don't miss it!
