The St. Augustine Wild Reserve offers tours on an appointment-only basis....

The St. Augustine Wild Reserve offers tours on an appointment-only basis. We are not open on a daily basis like a large zoo, although we do offer two-hour tours, reserved in advance. Tours are held in the afternoon, usually on Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays at 2pm. Email as far in advance as possible to make reservations. Children under 5 are free. We may be able to schedule a tour on a different day, if we know far enough in advance.

Guests will be given a guided tour of the 7-acre animal compound by an experienced wildlife professional. An introduction to each species, basic biology, and how the species arrived at our sanctuary will be discussed in detail. Visitors will be allowed a close-up view of the exotic animals. Guests will be able to venture closer to adult African lions than they ever imagined. Also on the tour will be our amazing white tigers, several orange tigers, a very rare golden tabby tiger, cougars, servals, lynxes, leopards, hyenas, coati mundis, and a host of wolves ranging in color from black to white. We also have a large bird collection, which includes conures, macaws, Amazon parrots, lovebirds, and even parakeets, cockatoos, cockatiels, doves, quail and finches. We feed all of the big cats on the tour on most days, and set up a tiger bubblebath for one pair of tigers. We do not allow photography at this compound, however, we do offer a fabulous photo CD at the end of the tour for a small donation. You may photograph our beautiful peacocks, lovebirds and conures, which are outside of the compound near the guest waiting area. Thank you!

My kids and I had a great time at the Reserve. We found the staff friendly, funny, and informative. I appreciated the staff's emphasis on describing the animals as wild predators. I was worried there would be an air of 'look how friendly and loving this apex predator is'. But there was none of that. The enclosures are small, despite... More

We have all seen the animals at zoos and such. It is another thing to see these beautiful animals up close and personal. They all had their own backstory on how they came to live here. Some good, some sad. Whatever the reason, they have a wonderful, caring staff of volunteers taking great care of them. It was an eyeopening,... More

Good food, great menu list and the downstairs area offers a lot of options. We always start our trip right there.

Visited whilst on holiday in Orlando, it's a 2-2.5hr drive from most Orlando bases and directions given at time of booking are great, really easy to find. We were really conscious to only book a visit to a place that genuinely cares for animals and isn't another zoo or seaworld and after reading the TripAdvisor reviews we thought St Augustine... More

Found this tour on TripAdvisor. Thought it sounded like an amazing experience to try on the way from Orlando to St Augustine. I used the link on TripAdvisor to book 2 places on the Wednesday tour. In the end we decided to check in to our hotel in St Augustine first. The lady at the hotel didn't have any info... More

I really enjoyed this visit. There were white tigers, which I had personally never seen before, siberian tigers, a liger, a tabby lion, lions, coyotes, wolves and other species. The guide was extremely knowledgeable. Both my daughter and I had a great time here

Our whole family had a great time. My 8 year old loved seeing the liger and all the other animals. You could tell that the owner and all the volunteers loved the animals and loved being there to show us around. I would recommend to any animal lovers.

We had a great time at the wild animal reservation. It is wonderful what those people at the reservation do for the abused and abandoned wild animals. All volunteers were knowledgeable and professional. No doubt that each animal is very much loved and well-cared. Overall, it was incredible to learn about all the animals and see how lions, wolves, panthers,... More

I have visited this reserve since we moved to St Augustine 15 years ago and love it every time. The animals are amazing and the staff are incredible. The owner, Deborah has built a furever home for so many endangered animals where they live out their life in comfort with amazing care. If you have not been on the tour... More

This place is doing great things!! Completely run by volunteers, the reserve takes in exotic animals that would likely otherwise be dead. The tour is about 2 hours in length and is led by a very knowledgeable guide who has a personal story about almost every animal on the reserve. Lions, tigers, wolves, a black bear, and many other animals... More
