Reminded me of the Quartier Petit Champlain streets in Quebec City. Galleries, boutique shops, old pubs, cobblestones and all the old fashioned attractiveness. Clearly, the Old City is not to be missed ... Fun place to eat and drink ...fun place to explore history after enough time spend on the beach:)

As I stated in the title, this place has something for everyone. The place is filled with the history of St. Augustine. You can stroll down St.George St. and stop in the little shops, relax in a pub, eat at several of the nice restaurants and enjoy some ice cream. It's a nice weekend trip. We usually stop in this... Quaint, cobblestone streets with lots of attractions for visitors. Museums, restaurants, hundreds of small tourist type stores selling everything imaginable. The Fountain of youth, the Old Jail, and dozens more--all reachable by trolley or train. Parking is expensive if you are lucky to find a place to park. Meters take only dollar bills. Streets are narrow. If you have ever... More

Old City is a must see if you visit St Augustine. I certainly recommend the trolley ride if it is your first visit to the city. The info on the ride through Old Town will give you the quickest plan of where you want to spend most of your time wandering on foot later. Plenty of great history and sites... More

For America's oldest city, not that many really old buildings survive, but a number of them are pretty old, with cobblestone streets. The pedestrian St. George street is pretty touristy. Aviles St. has an excellent art gallery (Plum).

We loved exploring the Old City of St Augustine. We also took a tour on the Trolley which was a big help getting around the area while we explored the city.

The best part of this area is that there isn't a bunch of made in China junk everywhere...I mean, there is stuff like that, but the artisans here are fantastic and you can get some really nice original things! Such a great little shopping area to take the whole family to learn history as well!

We spent the day exploring the old city of St. Augustine imagining what it must have been like when it was built. We come from New England where old homes and towns are familiar. It was particularly nice to see the similarities and differences in a warm weather city.
