It is a very quiet place to go, the chapel of Our Lady of la Leche (Our Lady of the mIlk) is unique. I am Roman Catholic and never heard of that avocation before

The museum is small, but filled with great artifacts and historical relics! The volunteers are fantastic-Greg was extremely knowledgeable and eager to share-which was great! It's certainly worth a peek into and if you're there around noon, pop into mass.

We love to visit this place. It was one of our 1st stops when we got into town. Only to find out they had too much damage from the storm. You cannot cross the bridge or get into the shrine or visit the gift shop. You can still see the cross from where the trolley drops you off. But you... More

One of my favorite places to visit. There is so much rich history and beautiful architecture. It is the perfect place for any photographer too.

We had to look from across the water since some of the area is closed. Hurricane Matthew did some destruction to the property. Just be aware and know you will not get into all of the activites here until further notice. Many people were surprised as were were.

Grounds were inpacted by hurricane Matthew so unfortunately we were not able to visit the cross, and the church's gift shop was closed...but what we were able to see was stunning

My hubby and I enjoyed a late afternoon visit to the mission. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. The tall cross is a magnificent part of the St Augustine landscape; it can be seen for miles! There are lovely statues, sculptures, bridges, and fountains. A very peaceful place to take a walk and pray or meditate.

you cant say you've been to st Augustine if you haven't gone to where it all started. On these tranquil beautiful grounds you can reconnect with God and nature and the history of where Christianity first came to what is now the United States centuries before the British.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn a few blocks away and wanted to walk to the water. We saw this area and walked into the grounds - just breathtaking and beautiful. The origins of this place revolves around Pedro Menendez de Aviles - his crew landed here in 1565 and proclaimed this site for Spain and the Church. The Great... More
