Since I moved to St. Petersburg, this has been the only park that I keep coming back almost every week. It is free, and also has free parking. Clean bathrooms and a very nice covered pic nic area. It could take you around 2 hours to walk the trails, keeping in mind that you will stop to take many pictures... More

Spent the day here. Beautiful nature walks and plenty of great spots to stop and have a picnic. So much to see, Aligators, turtles, Snakes, birds and bugs all up close and it's completely free!

This was a great activity to do with the kids. We spent around 2 hours walking through the park and were able to see incredible sights! The entrance is a little unassuming, but that just adds to the mystique of what Florida parks have to offer. I'd definitely come back if I find myself in the neighborhood again.

We were very impressed with this lovely park and kept exclaiming that we were surprise entry is free. The boardwalks and facilities are very well maintained. We saw alligators, herons, egrets, anhingas, lizards, etc. The park is beautiful, and the boardwalks are shaded by many trees and offer plenty of shaded benches for those who need a rest. I would... We arrived in St. Pete early (everything opens at 10 am, it seems), so we enjoyed a quiet stroll in this park, along the boardwalks. Nesting birds, lizards, turtles and several locals enjoying their morning power walk. Quiet, peaceful, well maintained....a nice park.

I grew up in St Petersburg. As kids we used to go to Sawgrass Lake for adventure. It was wild, beautiful, Florida "jungle". I'm very pleased to see this has become a park that preserves this unique old florida wildlife and fauna. Worth the trip.

Sawgrass is a great park for people of all ages! There are boardwalk paths that lead to towers with a beautiful view great for watching the sunset (or sunrise if you're an early bird)! There isn't a ton of wildlife, but you may find some alligators or armadillos! There is also the option of going off the boardwalk and following... More

My husband and I are avid backpackers and we enjoy visiting various parks in each city that we visit. This little hidden gem is a really beautiful park. With the lake providing an array of birds, the alligators and their babies, all the way to the far back of the park that offers a home to armadillos. The landscaping is... More

This park has a nice boardwalk through the marsh and wetlands, and we always see several gators. It's mostly shady, so it's OK to go in the summer. too.
