Not worth the $17. Admission. OK if you like pre-Columbian art. Limited in great art work. Maybe one I liked maybe 7 pictures. The place has a moldy odor. I just wasn't impressed. Maybe for $5.00. No comparison to the Dali museum...We liked. I've been to museums all over the world and this was the least impressive inside. The outside... More

The MFA is a good place to spend a few hours if in downtown St. Petersburg. We were staying close by and wanted a break from the beach so we stopped in for a visit. It definitely met our expectations. Their collection is quite diverse and well displayed in a very nice building. There were paintings, sculpture and other various... More

The museum tries to cover a very wide range of periods and styles of art. It can cover nothing in any depth. While there are some prominent artists represented, the works are not their best. It was a pleasant diversion, but not worth a special trip.

The museum looks quite small from the outside but it is huge on the inside. The have works of Claude Monet in it. The greatest painter of all time. That one piece is worth up to $50 million dollars. Come here over the Dali Museum. This one has over 15 different rooms.

Besides the permanent exhibition of artifacts from around the world do not pass up this special photo show. It takes the count of America in the sixties through the lenses of photographers taken on their travels across the country. It is well curated, comprehensive and samples the most important artists of the sixties.

It was a delightful day to attend the flower show in the museum. Flower artists had created floral arrangements to capture the essence of art and sculpture in the museum. The creativity was engaging and gave me time to analyze the art composition as well. I enjoyed the photography road trip exhibit and art gallery of high school student's art... More

We visited the MFA day after we went to the Dali MUSEUM. Like night and day. While the Dali was innundated with so many visitors it was hard to get a glimpse of anything, at the MFA there was time to look at the well spread out exhibits and enjoy them. The exhibits were arranged to allow for either a... More

We were lucky enough to visit the Museum of Fine Arts during Art In Bloom, and it was absolutely fabulous. But even without the floral displays, the museum itself is a really great take. There were so many wonderful works of art on display, and the docents were very helpful. The gift shop is also really fun.

Thank you for taking the time to review the MFA. We are always astounded at The Stuart Society's Art in Bloom event and how it fills the museum with gorgeous arrangements inspired by works of art, as well as the fragrance. We look forward to this every year! More

This well-located museum down by the water had 2 special exhibits when we visited. "On the Road" was a wonderful photographic exhibit of being on the road in America. An exhibit like this could have been joyous, grim, or a bit of each. We found it mainly grim, but the photography (by many different artists) was excellent. There was also... More
