What a great idea to make a public garden filled with palm trees from all over the world, from Madagascar to Belize. Until you see them all together, you don't realize how different one palm is from the next. The bark, the height -- one called a foxtail palm truly does look like a foxtail. Once I'd seen it I... This is a lovely space on the other side of the Vinoy from the Bayfront area. 800 palm trees and something like 236 species. Brick paved trail and many trees have an identification sign. Plus it's right near the water. Parking was easy on a Saturday afternoon and it worked well with my Mother In Law who uses a walker.... More

The arboretum is a nice little walk just outside downtown st. pete. The day we went, there was plenty of free parking both on the street and at the parking lot that was right near by. It is not a very large park but it was a pleasant way to kill 15 minutes.

Our family used to be in the landscape business. Whoever designed and planted this park were masters of their trade. We never saw so many types of palm trees in one area.

The Gizella Kopsick Arboretum is a great place to spend time walking or sitting in the park. It is particularly nice during hot weather as the foliage provides some shade. The winding, brick path can be easily navigated on foot and it is wheelchair accessible. There are benches that 'invite' visitors to sit and reflect or engage in quiet conversation.... More

We enjoying walking along the path looking at the various types of palm trees. Some had signage to tell you what they were. I'm thinking that others the signs had been removed. Regardless it was fun to see the different kinds. Plenty of free parking beside the park. While visiting we also walked along the beach. They have volleyball courts... More

A very pleasant walk! Some of the signs labeling the trees were missing or difficult to read. Otherwise seemed well-maintained.

Do you like palms? This is the place to see. A vast array of palms of all different types make up the totally accessible arboretum. This is just down the street from my home and I love to stroll through the park, reading the names and origins of the great variety of palm trees and bushes.

hundreds if not thousands of Palm trees from all over the world. Most are labeled. Great place to duck into when you are working out or just taking a walk.

This Arboretum is filled with palm tree varieties from around the world. It is nothing short of amazing to view. If you're vacationing in the area, make sure you visit. It's free and next to large parking lot for easy access.
