Had a golf cart included with our rental and it was so fun and convenient to golf cart everywhere on the resort, including Baytowne Wharf, Baytowne Marina, Grand Boulevard, and the beach. There’s a very cool (and safe) tunnel that runs under Hwy 98 for golf carts to access the beach. Our teens loved it. Best place to stay in the Destin area. Right between Destin proper and 30A. Everyone is so nice and Friendly especially Hillary in the tennis center. She always remembers our name and greets us with a friendly smile! I do wish that Todd the tennis director would spend some money on replacing shrubs around the courts. The landscaping is atrocious! We enjoyed the beach, bike rides, and the Fitness Center. What a view we had while working out! The staff were very friendly and informative. Had a clinic today with Ben Hunter. Ben does an amazing job keeping the play active and competitive. The check in process was absolute chaos. We talk to people who had been waiting since 7 o’clock in the morning and were told they would get a room. We had a Bayside condo and showed up at 2 o’clock and told it would be ready by four and we still didn’t hear anything till 5 PM finally two great people who work in the resort in the cleaning department were able to find our room number and get us checked in. By 10 to 6 they called and said we were ready to get into our room absolute nonsense. Other than that the place is great it’s a little over the top financially but a great place

Dick Flannery (the dock master) and his staff at Baytowne marina do an exceptional job keeping the boaters happy. Always friendly and welcoming. Great coming here year after year to be greeted by the same friendly faces. Well done. We love this marina.

My family and I visited for the back end of our vacation in 30a. Our boys begged to play putt putt, and not wanting to venture into Destin, we were happy to find the Dunes putting course. Riley the manager was phenomenal with our boys 2 nights in a row. He consoled them after losing night one and then graciously let them help retrieve the balls on night two when the 18th hole was over. This made our kids week and we appreciate his patience and grace. Well done!

This is about the golf, not the resort.
Baytowne Golf Club: Was the worst of the three we played, but still highly playable. The course had a couple of holes that needed some repairs, but the price was the most reasonable at the twilight rates of the three. Decent greens, spotty fairway, spotty tees.
The Links Golf Club: Great views of the bay playing this course. If the winds are up and temps are down you will freeze. However, we played in 70-degree temps and it was a delight. Above average shape but the tariff is a bit dicey at the twilight rate. If you have to rent clubs, bring your wallet.
Burnt Pine Golf Club: Way overpriced for this track. Beautiful shape all around, no question, but it is not a $169 course at twilight or any other time. It was the premier course of the three, however.
We did not play the Raven this trip.
The pandemic was a boast to golf courses everywhere as it was one of the few venues that you could attend during that time period. Because of that the courses all raised their prices by almost 50% and have not changed them to this day.

We were so excited about having a wedding weekend bonfire ..and then so disappointed ! Here is what we learned: The Sandestin team promised one location but gave it to another group. There may be multiple groups so be sure to be there when they set up so you get your promised spot.
There was wind in the 10-13 mph range and although bonfires were "permitted" as in not cancelled we learned the bonfire was more like a SMALL campfire so that was a bust. We could not see a thing-coudn't find the s'mores or the attendant for awhiile I would suggest you cancel if winds like this are predicted.
Lovely concept-but winter early Spring months may not be realistic time!

5 day golf trip and we played all 4 courses. They were all just exactly what we planned on and each had their special attributes! Of course Burnt Pine was everything we wanted and more! It had rained late the day before and we were cart path only and several of our group elected to play longer tees than they needed to so they had a long day! I would suggest checking about cart path rules before Burnt Pine or Raven because cart path only makes those courses really play long. We elected to play Raven twice and it was great. On our Spring trip we may opt for Links twice as it would be a great 1st and last day venue. The day we played the links the wind was not blowing so we enjoyed not having to deal with that! Baytown was resort golf and a fine challenge for our group, nice views and in good shape after aeration a couple of weeks before. The staff was so accommodating as we had to switch days because of rain and they went above and beyond to help us!
Our family is going back for Thanksgiving holiday and plan on playing all four again. Can’t wait!

I played the Links course at Sandestin 2 weeks ago. Overall, I really like the course. Challenging but fair. There's a lot of water but generally it functions more like out of bounds rather than forced carries or major danger for most holes. There is a lot more on the back 9 than the front. Greens were slow but in great shape. Fairways in great shape. Tee boxes varied, some of them do need some work, but they are playable. I would definitely play again. Very low handicap players that are long hitter may not like this course. Tee shots have much more premium on accuracy rather than distance.

Took my 12 year old son here last minute for a round of golf. Between his other sports and my other kid’s activities we don’t find much time to play golf. But I have to say today’s round with him was the most enjoyable round of golf in my life. Baytowne was awesome from the pro shop staff, to the course layout and condition. I really liked that they have an additional set of tees that are closer than even red tees and are perfect for a junior player learning the game. It allowed him to be competitive and have fun, but not allow him to get frustrated by having to play from harder tees. From start to finish the course was in great condition and the pace of play was perfect. While I would love to try the other courses here, I would have no hesitation to play Baytowne again. Thank you Baytowne for giving my son and I a round of golf we will never forget!

We golfed the Baytown course it was a disappointment. The fairways were nice and course layout good but the greens were horrible. The greens had bare spots and looked liked they had been stressed for some time. They should have said something at the club house but I think they know folks are tourist so they take the fee and say so long. The course should have been half price because of the greens. They could use a course in customer service. We won’t be going back there, to many good alternatives in the Destin area.

We've been going to SanDestin for the last 6 years on a golf trip with four players and have always had a great time. This year the management changed the rules on same day replay and charged us full price for a replay. In the past these replays were no charge and that really adds quite a bit to your trip package. Plus, for the second year in a row, the course at Baytowne has awful greens. They still charge premium price to play a course that has basically lost it's greens. We love the courses and our rooms but they are pricing themselves out of our business. We will be looking for another destination next year. In the past it was worth the 4 hour trip. Not anymore!

Is there any course that lets the non golfing spouse ride with the player on the cart for 18 holes , or even 9 , or even for a fee ?
