We visited simply for a brief history lesson about the lighthouse only. The grounds are beautiful. The lighthouse is unique. I've always been fascinated by lighthouses and this one was different in a lot of good ways. Glad enough money was raised to restore it...More

There isn’t much to do here besides walk along the beach and snap a pic or two. This isn’t a traditional “new England” style lighthouse, but was nicely decorated for Christmas.

The lighthouse itself isn't one of the pretty type, but made to withstand hurricanes. It's very close to the beach, but we were shocked at the color of the water. It looked like tea. Found out they are dumping water from Lake Okeechobee into the...More

I guess I was expecting something different...the lighthouse and grounds were beautiful, however I thought there would be an option to have a lighthouse tour. In Michigan, that’s a thing.

A visit to Sanibel Island would not be complete without seeing the Lighthouse on the southeast end. A walk on the beach and a visit to the Pier are all part of this experience

This is a fun to see while shelling or taking a long stroll on the beach. Have to pay for parking but it's worth it.

It is a fascinating experience. Since our initial visit was cancelled due to hurricane Irma, visiting this lighthouse gave me a great appreciation for its construction. A must see when you visit the island.

What a waste of time. $5 min / per hour parking. The beach is infested with noseeums - I am still itching 4 days later. The water is foamy and brown. I have no idea why anyone would visit the island or the beach. I...More

You cannot access it. There are mostly condo rentals on Sanibel. Very few hotels.

There are a few rental services on the island. I believe you can order equipment online and they will take it to the place you are staying at one of the services. You can google "beach chair rentals Sanibel island", you... More
