You have to take Periwinkle to get to most of the shops and restaurants. It is heavily travelled in January. There are no traffic lights and traffic officers direct traffic at the 2 major intersections. Unlike in many places in south Florida most drivers are...More

Perrywinkle is the main street running the length of the island and everything to see is off Perrywinkle - stores, restaurants and attractions. It's almost impossible to get lost on sanibel Island.

Periwinkle Way is one of two main thoroughfares on Sanibel Island, Florida. Along both sides are many local shops, eateries and scenery. Sanibel Island has a lot of “nature” right along Periwinkle Way. Many shops and homes are tucked away behind and among native vegetation,...More

Periwinkle Way is basically the main business street on Sanibel. (Readers, don't confuse this listing with Periwinkle Place, which is a larger landscaped shopping center located on Periwinkle Way.) If you drive onto Sanibel coming off of the Causeway, you will soon come to the...More

Periwinkle Way has some great shops and restaurants, all beautifully landscaped. You can spend half a day walking down the sidewalk, visiting shops, and taking a break in each plaza beside a fountain. When you drive in season and on weekends, you experience the Sanibel...More

Street changes names from Periwinkle to Sanibel-Captiva Road, otherwise, as you get off the Causeway Road and drive South the first East West road is Periwinkle, East to the Lighthouse; West toward t6he Shell Museum and then on to Captiva, no views.

This is a very convenient way to visit the island. All restaurants and many strips of little shops. Food store is there and gas station, also. We found great places to visit while we were on our vacation to Sanivel.

We were driving by this place and decided to stop by and do some shopping. I'm so glad we did because I found a lot of cute, little things to bring home and for my friends. We ate lunch at the Blue Giraffe and it...More
