Scenic drive and only way to get to Sanibel Island by car. Pay one way, $6 on the way in. Kinda makes you want to make good use of your time there.

As we were driving through the toll booth to pay our $6 car fee, the F-you was used by a rude employee as we pulled away. Unsure what we did to deserve it.

There are places to stop off the road, not the bridge, actually there are bridges A and B, or 1 and 2, or two built up footers for the bridges over the water.

As a family we stay in Sanibel every year and almost every morning my son and I get up early to fish the several points available off the Sanibel Causeway!

Very pretty drive out to the islands on the causeway. Great view of the bay and lots of places to pull over and enjoy the water and the views. Maybe do a bit of fishing as well.....

Yes, you can pull over on either side. It is very popular on weekends but virtually deserted during the week.

All the beaches on Sanibel are covered in sea shells. The best time to find the large and unique shells is early morning before the gobs of tourists hit the shoreline for the day. Happy shelling. Be sure to take a bag to put... More

Since they built it...$6 toll on Ft Myers mainland side...naturally no toll when you leave... Before such they had a ferry to the island
