This was a nice entry to Sanibel Island and beyond. $6 per car, outbound only. Lots of at-grade areas to pull off and park.

This was a beautiful ride to the Sanibel island and added to the excitement of arriving. It's a lovely place to even spend the day if you don't prefer to go all the way to the island. Lovely sunsets.....

The road is in good condition. People seem to stop here for breaks, some even chill at the small beaches or fish here. I even saw people launching boats and jet skis from there.

This is one of the best beaches on the island to go shelling on, a little buisier, but not bad. Highly recommend.

I have found more solitude in relaxing on the causeway than I have the beaches. The idea of pulling my Jeep up right on the water no parking, meters, or fees just excites me. Just lift the tailgate and go?

My husband and I love that you could drive up & park right by the beach! Restrooms and outdoor showers were available. Beautiful view & location!

It's not a destination really, but I could hang out there for a few hours taking in the sights, bird watching and walking around the tide pools. Lots of people fishing and lounging. Quiet and peaceful.

Watch a beautiful sunset or play at the beach. Best price on the island! You can picnic and have your car within 10 feet so you don't have to carry beach gear too far! A wonderful cheap way to get some sun and fun...

We have been coming down to Sanibel for over 30 years. We remember the old drawbridge and how sometimes it "got stuck' once costing me to miss my return flight. The new bridges and causeway are beautiful, and the causeway beaches are a fantastic place...More

Since they built it...$6 toll on Ft Myers mainland side...naturally no toll when you leave... Before such they had a ferry to the island
Can someone please tell me where you pay the toll? We never saw a toll booth and ended up with a fine.

I'm not sure how you would miss it since you can't go over the bridge without paying. There were two lines, one for the Sun Pass and the other for paying cash.
How do you pay for the causeway? Is there a cash line, credit card line etc.... Do you pay in quarters? Thanks.

For cars going to Sanibel is $6 and its cash only, unless you have a SunPass. If for any reason you don't have the money just stop and let the attendant know and they will bill you; it will cost you a few extra bucks.
