I think it's great that so much land is protected for those like me to come enjoy! It's like taking a step back in time and seeing what Florida was like when settlers colonated.

Park is close to city, about 15 minutes drive fron Sarasota. Facilities are not the best but still good try the wooden tower & be extra careful with alligators.

Love the park. Entrance fee is $6.00 per car. Canopy walk was announced as flooded due to rain the night before, but we were able to do it, though our shoes got soiled. Guided river boat was $14 for 12+ and $7 for <12 very...More

The day we visited the trails were flooded. Airboat tour cost $60 for 3 adult and one child. Max speed of the "airboat" is 5 mph. We saw 3 alligators and one blue herron in an hour. The guide was knowledgeable but didn't relieve the...More

Awesome day out. Canoe rental was fantastic. Saw lots of alligators from the bird spotting area. Didn't do the airboat ride, but it looked good for families and older folk. Great areas for picnicking ☀️👍🏻

A beautiful park, which is worth a visit. The nature and wildlife are simply stunning. As we went in the height of summer, a few walks were flooded, but we still had an opportunity to explore the part pretty well. Canoeing on the lake is...More

To visit Deep Hole, you need a free wilderness permit from the ranger station. First come, first served. The gates open at 8 a.m. it is something to see worth getting one. They only allow 30 permits per day! Hope that helps

We saw a scooter for a handicapped person, but my sense is that a golf cart would not work. You would have to be mobile to enter the boat tour and the walk. Suggest you check with park services for handicap access.
