What an excellent laboratory and aquarium. The best feature was the fact that knowledgeable docents were by most exhibits to give you facts about that exhibit and answer your questions. There were lots of hands on items to interest kids. What a wonderful way to get children interested in marine life. I highly recommend a visit to Mote Marine Lab... More

The Mote was a nice diversion from the somewhat crowded Long Boat Key area. The attraction was not crowded but then it is not a large location. We enjoyed the presentaion and exhibits avaiable. Given the open area we were pleasantly surprised by the arrival of some local wildlif, beyond what was actually a part of the Mote. The staff... More

This experience by far was truly a wonderful one. You can spend hours here gaining a wealth of information from the friendly and knowledgeable staff. The grounds are immaculate. A great experience for all ages. Great day trip for the price. I truly enjoyed seeing the octopus, up close was amazing. The peacock mantis shrimp in the bulletproof glass was... More

Every year we visit the Mote Marine and aquarium and have become members. There are 2 buildings so don't miss either.( across the street from each other ) The kids love to watch the manatees when they come up to glass wall. There is a new feature exhibit each season. At this time a new permanent exhibit was under construction.... More

We were pleasantly surprised to find that Mote is an aquarium on a par with those in much larger cities. Excellent displays of a wide variety of sea life, displayed and described well. This impressive organization also does extensive research and conservation work.

there is two buildings to visit. Huge amount of sealife to see and admire. Volunteers are at every exhibit to answer questions. The gift shop is ok but really offers nothing very special. The shark feeding was not as dramatic as I thought it might be but its still a good place to go and especially for children to learn.

Great assortment of sea animals! Friendly and knowledgeable volunteers are everywhere to answer questions and offer information. Great little cafeteria even sells beer! I spent 4 hours wandering around and checking out exhibits.

My wife and I took our two boys here while on Vacation in Venice. It was perfect for the rainy/overcast day we were having. My oldest son is 21 months old and LOVED it. The tanks were the perfect size for him and there was a nice variety of fish to see. He also loved all the places he could... More
