Spent the morning hiking here with my bff Buc. Beautiful, natural Florida but we were lost most of the day. The trail map that you can pick up at the entrance is worthless and the trails are horribly blazed. We were on a mission to find Rock Springs Run so I knew to just keep going south. Of course we... This is a picture of old Florida, after you get away from the crowd, paddling down the river watching some wildlife.....but did not see any black bears.

We had hoped to hike about 8 miles or more, but did not enjoy hiking in sand. We returned to the road and began taking the trail on the opposite side. The trail was much firmer, but we encountered a small bridge in precarious shape about 1/4 mile into the hike. It was disappointing not to be able to see... More

Attempted the Challenge Trail on Thanksgiving Day. Challenge #1 was figuring out if we were actually on the trail. It was a great trail that a lot of people would consider to overgrown to even attempt. They are missing out Challenge #2 is the wetness. Between the wet bushes and grass, sneakers weren't the proper footwear. They got a little... More

My husband and I decided to spend a weekend here at this park where his parents used to take him as a child. We arrive to the park on Friday and I must say this was an exceptionally clean and beautiful park. When we pulled up the girls at the reservation were very nice and prompt at getting our paperwork.... More

This is personally my favorite state park that is in Orlando. The name to put in your GPS is KELLY SPRINGS STATE PARK, if you put in rock springs it takes you to the area where you can horse back ride but there is no water access there! Beware of the water, it is about 72 degrees year round. Thankfully... More

This is a great place for the family. Some of the springs in florida do not provide an enviroment for children. However, this spring does. Because it is a state park, they do not allow alcohol. This tends to mean a less rowdy crowd if you habe the family there. There is a nice sandy play area for littlw ones... More

The springs here are more like a river with a large swimming hole then another river. You can float down the whole thing several times in one afternoon as long as you don't mind walking back up to the start again. We swim it with a mask and snorkel in the early morning to see fish and other critters under... More

Great Sunday afternoon easy trail walks. We took our three kids ages 10, 9, and 5 and we enjoyed looking for birds and snakes. Trails are sandy and uneven so may be treacherous for anyone with balance issues. Not good for strollers. Trails are shared with horseback riders and mountain bikers but it is wide enough for all. We were... More
