Nestled within 52 acres of flora and fauna, the Tallahassee Museum is an oasis close to the heart of downtown. The Tallahassee Museum features a working 1880s pioneer farmstead, native Florida wildlife habitat (including panthers and red wolves), cypress swamp, Jim Gary's 20th Century Dinosaurs, and the all new Tallahassee Tree to Tree Adventures (an outdoor zip line and adventure course for kids and adults). Come enjoy the great outdoors with us at the Tallahassee Museum- where nature, history, science, and fun come together!

Love this place!

A great place for kids or adults who enjoy being outside! Every year our parents give us a family pass and it is one of our favorite gifts!

......this is not a museum. This is a much needed facility for injured animals to be treated back to health. Since we were there, we toured the grounds and liked most of it but had to radically adjust our expectations. Once was enough for us. Not sure kids seeing a cougar who has to drag it's paralyzed back legs around... More

the Tallahassee Museum isn't what I expected -- more outdoors/animals than indoors/historic artifacts. We didn't see all the animals they have given the temperature -- it was early January, but we saw wolves, a panther, a sleeping bear and more. It was a fun time -- not as big and varied as expected but worth a visit. Allot yourself about... More

We went on a cold January morning and loved it. The wildlife is beautiful and engaging, the zip lines were exciting, particularly for our 10 and 15 year old.

The museum has many native animals including Bobcat, Florida Panther, gators, deer, & the likes. Boardwalks take you above the animals habitat for a better view. Fun Zip Line. Great area for kids where they excavate fossils from large rocks. Good place to picnic. I go there several times a year.

As a Tallahassee native, I grew up going to the Junior Museum :), and now take my two awesome kids to the Tallahassee Museum. Not only is this a great place to take the family but an awesome place to enjoy the Tree to Tree Adventures. Truly one of those places I have never outgrown.

Perfect day to visit. People in period clothing. They had reenactments going on. Crafts for the kids. We were there for at least 5 hours. Next time we'll do the zip lining. Go and you will have a great day

Not a zoo. Lots of Florida animals in somewhat natural habitat. Great gift shop. Historically relevant with early black church and black school house for touring. Great metal sculptures of dinosaurs by Gary done back in the 50's. Lots of walking on boardwalks with gorgeous setting among the cypress trees. Has 4 zip line courses including a children's zip line.... More

Nice inexpensive 'day trip' experience for all age groups ... interesting walking trail where you'll see 'old Florida' homes, farm buildings (including farm animals) ... a nice wildlife collection (black bears, bobcats, deer, turkey, panther including gray fox in the trees). Zip line experience for adults and little ones (based on our experience go early if you want to use... More

It was a fun visit. We needed a distraction because we had been evacuated from her home on the East Coast staying in a hotel in Tallahassee. My husband loved it we couldn't finish the entire Museum I've never been to one they had so many things to see. There has to be something for everyone here. Friendly staff.
