This historic part of Tampa makes a great afternoon or evening trip. Take the streetcar from downtown to Centro Ybor and walk around from there. Some little shops, but mainly restaurants, cigar shops and bars.

We spent a few hours here and the crowd got scuzzier as the evening went on. The area is filled with cigar rolling stores, tattoo parlors, great Cuban coffee and Cuban sandwiches. Once you've walked up and down the long street and had something to eat, you're done unless you're into clubs and rowdy, very rowdy nightlife.

I never read reviews before I write mines. Kinda think it misses the point. I did read some this time, and to my surprise they are contradicting. Never been in this place before, and I liked it. With my husband on a escapade from Miami, where we live, we had a great time. Historic street, where once stood cigars companies,... More

Unpleasant evening at Ybor City. Not convinced it is a place very safe after 10 pm. Drug sellers yelling "marijuana" in cars while we were quietly dining outside in an Italian restaurant. Youngsters poorly dressed standing up nearby their BMW... in fact, besides boring bars, tattoo shops and unremarkable restaurants, nothing much to do in Ybor City.

Not as many authentic places to eat as expected. A fair amount of neat places to see the cigars rolled but the rest is really a lot of tattoo places and really loud bars. If you want the more PG version go during the day

Have been there several time, and plan to go back. This was once the cigar manufacturing center of Florida, and is located in Northeast Tampa. A lot of really nice trendy bars and restaurants , many specializing in Cuban Dishes. A number of nifty cigar shops, some of which have people rolling cigars in the old style, right up in... More

Ybor City is so much fun with so many good Restaurants and Bars to choose from. I cannot believe how many cigar bars are there! It is a must for any Tampa visit!

I heard there's a Saturday market in the Centennial park area so thought it might be intereresting in conjunction with a visit to the museum and historical area. We parked in one of the main lots and a local advised us it's free to park during the day Saturdays - although there are large and plentiful signs confirming this, a... More

This was our first trip back to Tampa after 30 years & I remembered visiting Ybor City & being impressed back then--it's even better with age! We were in town for the college football championship & Ybor City was rocking at night and even busy during the day. Parking is very reasonable vs downtown and the variety of places to... More
