Do you see yourself looking over the vast Serengeti plains, searching the horizon for a glimpse of a pride of Lions, or a Leopard lounging in the trees? Do you imagine yourself in India, riding an elephant through the high grass with your eyes peeled for the elusive Tiger? Have you ever thought how great it would be to hike through the rainforest, listening to the tropical birds, ever on the lookout for a Leopard or an Ocelot high in the canopy? Have you ever been to the zoo and wanted to be closer to the exotic cats; so close you could almost touch them? You don't have to spend tens of thousands of dollars to make these dreams come true. The world's largest accredited big cat rescue facility is right here in Tampa, Florida at Big Cat Rescue.

We took a few tours and really enjoyed our time with the big cats. We got to make treats for them, and then watched them play with them. Total must see in Tampa

I have been privileged to visit Big Cat Rescue several times. This is a habitat that is as close to natural as possible. The animals and facility are cared for by volunteers. The cats come from zoos, private owners and rescues. The tour is informative...More

We recently visited the Big Cat Rescue and truly enjoyed it. It is obvious that the care, safety and well-being of the animals are the top priorities. It is not a zoo; it is a habitat. Their living spaces are quite large; not cages. There...More

This is a retirement place for unwanted or abandoned cats. There are over 70 species of cats there all with large clean living areas. Watching a Tiger splash around in his own pool was wonderful. There are lions, tigers, lynx, cougars, and many other species....More

My family and I went here and had a tour with the lee[er We were able to make the cats toys. The tour enabled us to get close to the cats. Close enough to get some really good pictures. We had a great time!

This is not a zoo. They have made a real effort to provide the cats a natural environment. The staff is great! Stop by, enjoy the day and help in their effort to protect these beautiful animals.

It's not my sanctuary, but they do have a live video feed so you can see what the cats are currently up to. Just google "big cat rescue live feed"
