Do you see yourself looking over the vast Serengeti plains, searching the horizon for a glimpse of a pride of Lions, or a Leopard lounging in the trees? Do you imagine yourself in India, riding an elephant through the high grass with your eyes peeled for the elusive Tiger? Have you ever thought how great it would be to hike through the rainforest, listening to the tropical birds, ever on the lookout for a Leopard or an Ocelot high in the canopy? Have you ever been to the zoo and wanted to be closer to the exotic cats; so close you could almost touch them? You don't have to spend tens of thousands of dollars to make these dreams come true. The world's largest accredited big cat rescue facility is right here in Tampa, Florida at Big Cat Rescue.

These people are taking care of these animals and seem to be doing a great job. There are a ton of big cats that you can see. It really is just set up as a rescue. They are in cages (clearly) and while it is good viewing, there isn't much to it. Do go, see these beautiful creatures, help them,... More

The entrance to this hidden gem is situated between a McDonald's and a shopping center. If you blink, you'll miss the entrance. Wear closed toe shoes! You walk the acreage and see lemurs and all types of cats - from lynx, panthers, jaguars, lions and tigers. Worth it to stop by.

This is an great place with al the good intentions. The tour was fun, and the guide had a lot of knowledge and was funny. Ofcourse it is very sad to see that a lot of big cats live(d) in such horrible conditions. But I'm glad there are places like this.

This was a really unique experience. Came very close to a number of big cats. We did the feeding tour and it lasted under an hour. Wish we had gotten more time, but it was a really special place I would visit again.

AMAZING! We did Keeper Tour at BCR this past weekend and it was a great experience! We learned so much and got to ask questions directly to keepers. We saw about 30 of the kitties and made toys for them to enjoy. These cats are saved from backyard breeders, circus or as pets of owners that can't give them the... More

I recently visited the Big Cat Rescue and found the tour to be very educational. All of the rescued cats are housed in large cages in a natural habitat. While this is not ideal , as cats should be free, it is far better than the conditions from which these animals were rescued. Not all of the cats were visible... More

This sanctuary is fantastic. The Cats are treated with respect, admiration and love. They receive good foods, expert medical care and the best living space available. Our Guide was knowledgeable and shared insights about most of them. We even saw a tiger get scent enrichment (cinnamon, and catnip). The tour price is a bargain. Don't miss Big Cat Rescue.

This is a great place to visit. Seeing the cats in natural habitats and safe from all the crazies that think they should adopt them is very special. They provided a headset to hear stories about each of the cats. They even provided rain ponchos since it was raining off and on all day. Best to wear tennis shoes or... More

This place is something different in Florida. They rescue big cats and the have a lot. We went on the tour and it was incredible how close, but safely you get to these fabulous cats. I have seen many Tigers in my life but none just a few feet away, they seem much larger. All the cats have history which... More

Without a doubt, this is the best animal sanctuary in the world. The animals are so well taken care of, and their love for these animals is so evident in the faces of the entire staff. Absolutely recommend visiting Big Cat Rescue and taking ALL the tours!
