Love to drive past all the lovely homes, lots of variety, Spanish style, Craftsman with charming porches, etc. Pretty landscaping is universal.

On a leisurely Sunday afternoon, afford yourself the historic ambiance of Hyde park both the residential part and the commercial scene. The urban "forest" will shade and the little shops will entice you to slow your pace and look around.

I've been to Hyde Park several times over the years. I love to walk the sidewalks or drive the streets looking at the vintage homes, many classic bungalows. The homes - NOT McMansions - have character and look like great places to raise families.

This is a pleasant drive in any time of the year. There are old historic homes that have been beautifully restored on manicured tree lined streets. Christmas is my favorite time of the year to visit due to all the great decorations!

Hyde Park is a very nice area, the homes in the area are nice, with a cool vibe. A variety of shops and good eats, nice little stops for a drink, but still family friendly. Nice small shops in the area too.

Great location to so many parts of town. Hyde Park has lots of shops and restaurants to choose from. Some good shopping too. Nice area for just hanging out. There is a small area with grass and water fountain. Great place to just chill.

Good for strolling, though the wisdom/safety of that at night was a bit unclear to me as a visitor. Things mostly shut down by 10 PM on weeknights, so don't assume you'll have late dinner options or late partying opportunities unless happy in a beer-soaked student dive. Still, a good take and you should visit this section of the city.

I've been visiting Hyde Park Village for 20 years. I watched the retail area go through a sad downturn. But happily it is truly being restored to its former glory. The new owners are very serious about making this place great again. New restaurants and shops are opening and they are fantastic. They join great places like Anthropologie and Piquant.... More
