You can catch many different views of the river from various parts of the Tampa FL area. There are numerous bridges over the river and it actually flows into the area know a River Walk in downtown Tampa/

Need I say more...kayaking down the river can certainly be a peaceful one. The river spans for some 60 miles and you can definitely enjoy it if you have that time. You won't be disappointed.

There is a State Park on the river and if you are traveling with children this is a place to stop. There is a very nice campground there if you are camping or RVing....I have camped there several times over the years, and would recommend it if you really want to enjoy the river.

If you enjoy nature and canoeing or kayaking - go HERE! Full of things to see and do, it is the best of natural Florida. Beautiful hours spent just hanging out here with our family and with my husband and I. Bring your binocs and come early for good bird watching too!

Beautiful state park. But was disgusted that we camp there because are kids are older and love swimming you have to pay $4.00 per person and pool closes @ 6. That was part of the reason we came to Florida was to swim and enjoy weather. Sadly we left after only being there for two days. You should have a... More

My daughter is attending USF and we decided to get some exercise and walk around this riverfront. It is very nicely done, easy to walk and beautiful neighborhood surrounding it. I would definitely recommend this as a beautiful way to get some exercise.

We live about an hour south and love coming up to the Hillsborough to canoe/kayak. We use Canoe Escape, an outfitter in the Sergeant state park. Last Saturday morning it was quiet and misty amidst the Spanish moss and cypress knees. We were greeted with lot of wading birds, turtles, several baby alligators and two adults sunning themselves. We kayaked... More
