It is rare for me to not like a museum, but this one was disappointing. The first floor had information on the Seminole wars and the cigar industry. The theater presentation on the Seminole wars was boring and I walked out mid-show. The second floor was worse. The information signs are small. The layout inefficient, random, and chaotic. An eclectic... More

This is a cool museum with lots of multimedia stuff. There is a video about settlers from the 1500s that's educational. I loved the exhibit on cigar history in Tampa. Those are all original artifacts. I also liked the modern Tampa stuff. There's a lot of Native American exhibits. Parking is easy.

A great find on the RiverWalk. Really nice museum that focuses on Tampa history but also Florida in general. Really nicely done at a good price--$12.95 for adults. We spent about 90 minutes because we were hungry for lunch, but you could spend more. Nice gift shop and great restaurant associated with it--restaurant is Columbia Café and it specializes in... Did not know this was the Cigar capital of the nation. It shows changes of Tampa came to be. It is located on two floors.

I've lived near Tampa for most of my life and never knew its history. The museum is very informative and hands on. Plus, it's a great spot by the water and had the Columbia Cafe. We will definitely be returning.

Not proud to say how long I have lived in the area and never visited this treasure. The suggested time for visiting is 2 hours, but I wish I had spent the weekend! Appreciate the various entities that have made Florida, in particular the Bay region, their homes and their accomplishments. From Native American tribes, European settlers, immigrants, and businessmen,... More

Last minute decided to check out this museum and very glad I did. The history films were short and well done, the information on Tampa's cigar history was interesting as was the native American history of Florida. I really enjoyed the photo exhibit on the top floor. Worth the stop.

Fun and informative adventure. A great place to get out of the rain or heat. A lot of videos and displays. An amazing art gallery.

Absolutely amazing. A gem in downtown Tampa, this museum has really fun interactive exhibits and well-produced films. Three floors. A little expensive.

I'm biased, this is where my husband took me on our first date. There's tremendous exhibits and history. I really enjoy the interactive components and you can donate items of Tampa History here too! 85% collections comes from donations.
