My husband, daughter, son-in-law and I hiked the Florida Trail today. It had beautiful views as we followed along the river for a large part of it. We took many photos. The hike wasn't a difficult one. You just have to be careful of the tree roots on the pathways. Highly recommend!

Stayed at the park for two nights camping, great trials for walking, can hire canoes or kayaks from the cafe nice for a couple of hours. The spaces to camp are really big and all have a fire pit which was lovely. When next in the area will be back.

We stayed on Site 109 in a small motorhome the last week of February and the first week of March. There are two main loops, with all sites shaded. Very quiet. No mosquitos! There are three beautiful hiking trails in the park, ranging from 1 to 3 miles in length, several miles of paved bike lanes, and a connection to... More

I camped at the park in late February 2017. It was hard to get a spot, so schedule ahead. It's so peaceful there. You can hear the breeze in the pines, watch the stars at night, and walk the trails. There really isn't a thing that I would try to improve. Wonderful trip.

We intended to spend three days in the Tampa area and got a site at Hillsborough for a Thursday night. Park is very quiet with large lots. Very natural setting. We looked for the river but even on the river loop we didn't see it until after we left the park. Washroom facilities are old and showers have a common... More

We've lived near this park for years and never visited until recently when we ended up with a few free hours on a spectacularly beautiful Florida afternoon and wanted to take our dog for a hike. I can't believe we've missed these nature trails all these years - but we won't miss out in them any longer. The river views... More

Had been wanting to stop by this big park and today was the day. We didn't spend a day, just an hour but plan to return. Nice trails, bridges, great bathrooms, there is a pool, restaurant. Rentals for fun bike type things and kayaks. Wonderful family park. Great place to take photos. Good alligator warnings and info about respecting them.... More

Located in eastern Hillsborough County, this park is easy to ride to either from I-4 or east on Fowler Avenue to State Road 301. The entry fee is $6 dollars and well worth the experience. The loop road is only one way and you are committed if you decide to explore the park. One of two Florida “rapids” is located... More
