Hiked the Little Manatee River State Park 6.7 hiking trail which included the primitive camp site trail. Nice walk along the river for 1/2 of the trail and other section is mostly scrub oak. Dry this time of the year.

This Florida State Park offers low crowds, a nice picnic and playground area, modern toilets, horse and hike trails, and a campground. If only the trails were marked! We hiked around 3 miles and decided to leave. Supposedly there is a trail along the river that affords you the viewing of turtles as they eat the local prickly pear cactus.... More

Not really much to do or see here. Many campers bring their horses so must be great for them. Typical Florida scrub environment. There is a short trail as well as a 6-7 miler. Bring your own kayak or canoe for a paddle on the river. There is a rental outpost just outside the park. We called to inquire about... More

Very little else in this area to "tourist" at. The exhibit is really very nice. Do not bother going unless the weather is chilly, the manatees come to this location because of the warm water of the power plant next door.

Been hiking here several times, has some great shady trails along the river. We use the entrance off the road, there is a good 6 mile loop, no bathrooms on that loop so be prepared!

My husband and I stayed here twice. Beautiful park with lots of trails. The water is so clear in the Little Manatee River you see to the bottom. Which came in handy keeping a look out for alligators! Thank goodness I didn't see one! The campsites are a nice size for tents or RVs. The bath house is very clean.... More

When I first turned into the park I thought I took the wrong road since nothing said anything about camping The gate entrance is very narrow The campground is 2 more miles beyond the check in There is one loop on a one way road with 30 back in sites. All sites are gravel and level with lots of trees... More

I posted a review yesterday for the WRONG company - and I have done this particular trip. They were good about getting us into a canoe, we floated/paddled leisurely, but managed to tip over the canoe TWICE - which ended up making me loose my glasses and ruin a camera - but I'd do it again in a heart beat.
