According to information on the web and the museum website, the museum is open several afternoons per week. Site specifically said it would be open Sat, 7/2. Went there at least 15 min before scheduled time, no cars visible. A hand-printed sign on the door said "closed til further notice." Additionally both phone numbers listed for information are disconnected or... More

My nephews and I drove 2.0 hours from Atlanta through the north Georgia Mountains to get to see the layout. Prior to the trip we tried to call the numbers provided but were told they were out of service. Without GPS it would be impossible to find the place as there are no signs on Town Creek School Road. Upon... More

This place is wonderful even if you aren't into model trains. The building is just unbelievable with all the train tracks, miniature reproduction of nearby attractions, several trains running at the same time. $5.00 admission for at least an hour tour or longer if you take your time and take it all in. We have been several times and always... More

After reading some others comments, should have stuck with the gut and saved the trip. Arrived at about 1:40 Says they open at 1:30 on one site and 2 pm on another. Sing on door says Wednesdays they open at 1:30 One car in parking lot with rear doors open. No one around. Went inside, no one around. Doors to... More

I had read the reviees before trying to go here during our family trip. I made sure to call before the trip and no response. I saw that many people gave it excellent reviews and thought to try my luck following the strict guidelines on the website...but to no avail. We tried on separate days and times but we never... I believe this is the largest model railroad in the country and it was built by a father-son team, originally with no thought to share with the public. This is one of the greatest attractions around. There is a $5 charge for adults and kids are free. A little history is given, then you are free to spend as long... More

We were awed by the model railroads attention to detail in showing historical buildings and sites of Georgia. Great experience for the whole family. The kids were even impressed!

If you have children, this is a great place to visit. Model trains always seem to bring out the awe and wonderment and children.

I was fortunate to first visit when the builder was still alive and get firsthand background on this wonderful place. He was around 80 and passed away a couple of years ago. It is currently operated by his daughter in law who does a decent job, but it is a part time thing. It is not a labor of love... More

Would be a great family destination if the owner would actually open the doors when the website says it will open. If you live any more than 10 minutes away from this place, I suggest you do not go. Because you will end up like my family, driving from over an hour away only to find out that she went... More
