Tellus is a 120,000 square foot science museum located in Cartersville, just north of Atlanta. Tellus Science Museum is a Smithsonian Institute Affiliate Museum, which houses four major galleries - Weinman Mineral Gallery, Fossil Gallery, Science in Motion Gallery, and My Big Back Yard. In addition, the museum includes a fossil dig and gem panning hands-on experience, a planetarium, and an observatory.

The museum had a an impressive rock/mineral display, wonderful fossils, and a great transportation history exhibit. Well worth the trip. Definitely spend the extra $3 and check out the shows if you can.

Great way to spend a rainy or hot day! Impressive Mineral gallery. The Big backyard area was fun & interactive. Great activities for younger kids.

We visit this museum on a Sunday while it passing time and it was well worth checking out. So much to learn and to see. We took our time and learned a lot. Will go back again.

We visited for Girl Scouts Day and were very impressed with the program. The museum was good, but my girls favorite part was the space area. Great little museum that shouldn't be missed. The telescopes were not run by folks who really knew their stuff...More
