Visiting Residents on river

Beautiful. May be a little unsafe after dark when you move away from the public areas. Fun to watch the whitewater boats.

This is a must visit if you go to Fort Benning or Columus Georgia. Make the time to see the river walk, even if you can only drive by it. Beautiful area, you can even go river rafting in this unique urban setting.

You will be well served to enjoy a 20+ mile rode down the banks of the chattahoochee river. Beautiful views of the whitewater course all the way to the infantry museum at Ft. Benning. Not a flat or easy ride, rolling hills and different terrain make it beautiful and interesting. Nice venue for bikers.

We stayed in Columbus for three days in February. We had the opportunity to stroll along the Chattahoochee on the Columbus Riverwalk on 2 occasions. It's a wide bricked pathway where we saw: parents w/kids were chasing after them, couples were walking, the 'athletic' types were jogging/running, bicyclists were riding, we even saw someone fishing at one of the open... I haven't been to Columbus in YEARS and it was such a pleasant visit. Downtown was beautiful and the restaurants were really great. We had a wonderful visit, and enjoyed the vendors downtown on the sidewalks. The coffee shop and lunch choices were excellent!!

The river walk downtown is a great place to take a stroll. There are several spots to stop right by the rapids, steps that go right down to the water, a water park, playground, and downtown shops and restaurants close by. Plus you can walk over to Alabama and get a great view from the top.

On this riverwalk you can walk up one side of the river in Georgia and then down the other side in Alabama! I'm not sure where else you can walk in two states on the same riverwalk. The river walk was several miles long for the avid runner or biker. It definitely was a great place to exercise outdoors or... More

We made a day trip to Rotary Park. This has picnic areas with charcoal grills, walking, jogging, biking, boat ramp. Chattahoochee River views were amazing. It has restrooms and gift/snack shop. Plenty of parking. Well maintained. Shared some pics.

This a great thing to do after a nice dinner nearby. They did a very nice job with the River Walk area. We enjoyed a leisurely stroll along the river after a wonderful dinner at 11th and Bay.
