Darien Waterfront is beautiful! The grassy area where there are bleachers to sit and enjoy the scenery, tabby ruins to admire, huge tree providing so much shade and beauty and there is a stage for waterfront performance on special occasions such as July 4th. The boardwalk to enjoy the river and the beautiful sunsets, watching shrimp boats coming back in... More

I didn't spend enough time enjoying Darien's waterfront (turns out there was lots to explore in the rest of McIntosh County!) The park is a good place for a restful walk to enjoy the view along the Altamaha River. The tabby ruins are fun to contemplate both for history and their beauty.

Great place for a stroll... Watch the shrimpers come in and unload their daily catch! Sunsets are particularly brilliant from the westward facing viewpoint.

Relaxing spot and love seeing the boats Try to be there for the blessing of the fleet/ There will also be a carnival and vendors.

Twelve years ago I fell in love with this quaint Dock side community and not much has changed since! Be sure to bring a camera and explore your photojournalistic side. 📸 The path along the waters edge will take you past some historic ruins. And across the street from that you will find local shops to peruse. Near the end... More

Just down the drive way from Waterfront Inn. A calm walk and excellent for photo ops.The shrimp boats are docked right there and you can watch departures, returns and some of the work required to be in the shrimp business.

About a dozen shrimp boats are docked along this waterpark and it is especially beautiful around sunset. My husband and I got many wonderful photographs from the docks as well as up on the bridge overlooking the waterway.

I was just passing through town and saw some signs about the waterfront area with shrimp boats on it. It looked interesting, so I stopped. I walked the length of the park and checked out the docked shrimp boats along the river. The roadway goes right over the park and there is a nice mural to check out. There is... More

Nice spot to stop and enjoy the river views. There are old tabby ruins just across the street and a short walk to get up close views of the local fishing fleet. Couple of benches to rest for a moment. Nice, quiet spot.
