We went on Labor Day, which we knew was going to be a busy time, and finding a parking spot took patience. We didn't have to pay the park entrance fee as we used the free state park pass from our local library. The bathrooms...More

We drove up the mountain to the top of the falls. Easy parking and a short, simple walk to the bridge at the top. The views from there are absolutely beautiful. My husband and I decided we wanted a birds eye view and drove back...More

The Falls are beautiful, but parking is a challenge, very few picnic tables and restroom (a single shooter for the women) was disgusting! We climbed he steps to the top to enjoy the view - a challenge with everyone stopping along the way for pix....More

I can see why this park is so popular. Located away from any hustle-bustle city, this place is a nature lover's dream. You pay your $5 fee to enter the park and just a few feet away is the Visitor's Center on your right. It...More

Came to ATL to visit for a weekend and wanted to get out into nature. Would highly recommend the hour drive north to Amicalola Falls. Beautiful Mountain views and not a tough hike at all up to the top.

A trip to the Dawsonville area is not complete without a trip to Amicalola Falls. There are cabins to rent, a camping area, a Hike Inn, and plenty of picnic spots. There is a stairway to the Falls - but not for the faint of...More

The falls has two stages and two paths up. The pathway of stairs is 450 stairs or so per stage. The unpaved path is a criss cross normal trail. The stairs have a good view of the falls while the pathway doesn't. Amazing view, and...More

The falls are spectacular. You can see them from the top, then drive down the hill a bit and park and walk .3 miles on an easy paved path to the absolute best view. A reflecting pool at the bottom is a great picture, especially...More

We stayed in the lodge at the top of the mountain. Even if you do not stay there I would recommend a stop there to view mountains from the huge deck. They have a restaurant with a great view too. The park also has camping,...More

The closest town is probably Ellijay, Ga. When we go, we usually rent a cabin. There are several companies to choose from, that you can research on the internet. Blue Ridge is a bit farther but it is slightly larger town. I... More

Not a great place to bring dogs if you plan on hiking to top of falls. A good portion of path is rocky and would be hard on paws. If you use the metal mesh stairs when the temperature is high, it would be painful for your... More
