Really enjoy going to the falls! It is very beautiful. You can fish at the base of the falls. There are also stairs so you can climb the falls but be sure to bring a rain coat so you don't get wet. There is also a play ground for kids and a gift shop too. Bring a picnic and plan... More

The falls are very pretty! Georgia's policy of sustaining wildlife is admirable! We enjoyed the stairs and paved trail. We did not enjoy the litter...

What a spectacular venue - can also fish at base pool, and sit to contemplate serenity. Have a bite up at the Lodge, and check out that additionally spectacular view of G-d's magnificence of the start of the Appalachians = The Blue Ridge Mts... it's magical indeed

We weren't brave enough to walk up. My hubby dropped my son and I at the top and we walked down. I dropped hubby and other son at ADA entrance which is the most spectacular view of the falls and they walked down. Highly recommend making a stop at the visitor center there are cool reptile exhibits, the boys loved... More

The Smoky Mountains and surrounds are great, but this is well worth the visit and a place we will go back to again. The walks, views and the Hotel lodge at the top are great rewards for the $5 parking fee you pay on entering the park. Even though it was a sunny day and the stream above and below... More

Going down is easy but going back up is the hard part! If you're able to do so, definitely worth a hike down. The walkway is close to the falls and it's absolutely amazing to see and hear! If you wander down further there's another trail that runs by the river where you can find rocks build cairn's and sit... More

Take the stairs for an up close view of falls. Take the path for less steep ascent. If you have dogs, you may want to take the path. Our 40lb hound didn't like the open metal stairs and had to be carried. The Shepherd was fine.

I visit a college friend in Atlanta every year and I insist on going to Amicalola Falls. I am drawn by the path to the start of the Appalachian Trial. With a total of 604 steps up and 8.5 miles, it makes for a wonderful day and workout. I live in the midwest with flat prairie land and you just... More

the trail starts at a man made pool at the parking loop. The trail follows the waterfall stream. It can be a bit of a challenge so if you cannot walk a wooded/stony path, drive to the parking area halfway up to the falls and walk the flat path to the bridge at the base of the falls.

This is a must for an outdoor outing. The 604 steps starting at the bottom of the Falls and going up is fantastic. Great views.
