We love hand blown glass and thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Glass Mountain. They are located a few minutes from downtown Helen and provide a nice break from the touristy town. You can watch the artists at work and browse through their gallery. There are some very unique pieces available to view and purchase. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Wife and I stopped in here, in the hopes of watching a glassblowing demonstration. However, the furnaces were not running today. We talked at length with Phil, the owner, who's the nicest guy you could meet. We ended up buying a cool item - a wine bottle that's been melted until soft, and flattened into a cheese tray. Very clever.... More

This is a typical glass shop. The one thing that was different was that they made glass names while you shopped. This was great cconsidering the many different names now.

Management response:

Unfortunately, your review is not of our business. We do not make glass names and are not a typical glass shop. We are large furnace workers with an actual fine art gallery. I know you would not have been disappointed had you visited us. Check out our website @ glassmountaingallery.com and you will see what I mean. If you visit... More

Bought 3 pieces that were absolutely beautiful. They do blown glass and fused glass and Phillip the owner was very friendly. He invited us up to their studio to watch.

Spent a very pleasant morning watching talented artisans at work. They carefully explained the process for making the beautiful pieces of glass art that they create while we watched. I bought two beautiful vases. They have a Christmas tree full of blown glass ornaments. Also seasonal pumpkins and gorgeous gourds besides their other incredible pieces.

My husband and I were visiting Helen this past weekend and stopped by Glass Mountain Gallery on the way from Unicoi State Park to downtown Helen. From some other reviews on TripAdvisor, it seems that a few people have this place confused with another glass shop downtown. Glass Mountain is off Hwy. 356, about a mile from downtown, just down... There were so many items to choose from and all were very nice and reasonably priced. I bought a special gift to remind me of my vacation.

We really enjoyed all of the glass based artwork. It's a really cool place but I would caution against bringing small kids in so that nothing gets broke.
