Beautiful, peaceful place

High Falls State Park is accessible, affordable, and picturesque. It is an excellent venue for family picnics, camping, and fishing. The falls are so beautiful.

We're visiting from Colorado, looking at possibly relocating and the falls was recommended to us! We love waterfalls and we were not disappointed with these! Easy hike for our 4 and 6 year olds! A few places to sit and relax and the kids could safely play along the shore and explore! There's a really nice playground the kids played... More

Just a quick overnight stop but very pleasant experience and plan to come back when we have time to enjoy. Made our reservation through ReserveAmerica. Mid-afternoon of day we were to arrive received a call from park explaining office closes at 5pm and giving us directions to find our camping area (there are 2) and the late arrival check-in procedure.... This park has some really cool trails and a really cool waterfall. Plus it's right off I-75. We stopped to break up the drive for a hour or two. We're planning on going back and renting a Yurt for a few days. Definitely worth going to.

We drove up from S. Fl. For Christmas holiday, my husband and I with our 16 & 7 yo. Stopped for essentials in Macon at Walmart (target too) as there isn't a large store in Jackson for provisions. There are 3 gas stations the one closest to falls was pretty empty so stop before. We were lucky and got a... More

Even with the Georgia drought this set of falls is flowing. The lake has an interesting history that you can read about at the rangers station. We didn't camp but we're impressed with the gers and campsites with the view of the lake. But walk across the road and hike along the trail that follows the cascading falls. Beautiful scene... More

This was our first visit to High Falls. We just bought our first camper. From the front desk to the camp host everyone was so helpful. Cybele at the front desk was so kind. Our camp host, Chuck and Robin, made us feel right at home. They shared so many camping tips to make it a breeze. We had trouble... More

There are 2 areas to choose from for RV camping. The lakeside or river side camping areas. Both very nice. You can access high falls state park easily on line and the site is very informative. The state park takes reservations and you'll want to make sure you have a reservation if you intend to stay here. It is a... More
