Good historical place to stop and learn about the history of the island. Self guided with easy to read historical markers. Always good to learn some history while traveling.

The ruins are self explanatory, the island had done a good job with their self guided markers and historical account of this site.

It is pretty neat to see. It is the shell of an old house that was built out of Tabby. It is something to see at least once, probably not twice.

If you don't enjoy history, it may not be for you. However, it does make for some nice photos with family. What do you expect? It's nearly 400 years old, which I find pretty amazing. Go across the street to the cemetery.

This is one of the many spots you can stop at and read about the history of Jekyll Island. The Horton family was a big part of the area having the first house on the island.

It was interesting to see the same building materials used here as in SW Florida by early residents, It must have been a hard life so isolated from civilization.

It was amazing to see these ruins up close. It was like stepping back in time. Amazing how well they have stood the test of time.
