An enjoyable laid back visit in February. I visited the museum, Trolly and cottages tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and good. I enjoyed the tour of inside two of the homes. Plenty of walks and bicycle paths. This island is a perfect place for families and singles to visit.

We took the tram tour today. It included a tram ride and a visit inside a couple of the "cottages" It's hard to believe that these were homes that were used January through March. Our tour guide was great and brought the place to life with her stories and information about the people who once owned the homes. Included in... More

This island was the winter home of many wealthy people during the late 1800's. Because a major hurricane has not hit the area since 1898 many of the homes still exist. We took a tour of the island which I highly recommend because our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the island. The tour gives entrance into 3 homes with... More

The State of Georgia has done a Great Job restoring the Jekyll Island Club and the buildings around it. Shops, Restaurants, and yes even the U.S. Post Office are all located here.

Visited here on the last day of January under a warm sun and gentle breeze. We took our own walking tour of this historic area. Understanding that this was where the financial barons of the late 19th century vacationed added a sense of awe to the surroundings. The present Jekyl Island Hotel which was the clubhouse of the Rockefellers, Morgans,... More

Is fascinating! We learned a lot about the formation of this community culture and the people who helped create it. Take the trolley tour. And do not miss the chapel, but make sure you have a guide there to explain....it's fascinating!

The restorations are great. So much history to see as to how the island was populated and by whom. A must see.

Great views of the marsh and river, good view of the Jekyll Island club. This is a great area to photograph. Warning - there are quite a few weddings here during the summer and they close areas of the walkway and bike path. It can be a little annoying at times but still worth the trip.

The history of the island is very fascinating. We really enjoyed touring the millionaire's "cottages". It gave a real insight into the lives of the very wealthy that spent their summers on Jeckyll Island. Beautiful!
