Visited the mansion during the Christmas Open House. Quite lovely!! The refreshments served were delicious. Each room in the house was decorated for the holidays in "old style manner". The hosts were available to share historical information about family life in the home. Very enjoyable evening.

Rose Hill is a beautifully restored historic home. We have gone to their holiday open house when it's decorated with fresh greenery for Christmas by the local garden clubs. We love to walk the trails and look at the gardens. Take a picnic lunch! We also have had our engagement photos and family photos taken here.

The house is very old and the gardens are well maintained. If you're visiting because you love history---start with the house. If you're visiting because you love nature, start with the Gardens!!! There's so much to see and learn!!

We visited a bit out of season so no flowers but a lovely arboretum, great walking trails and you can drive most of the area as well. The house is restricted access but you can get in via the trolley tour from the visitor centre.

I went here twice, to go bird watching, and I am ashamed to admit that I never stepped inside of the building. I wanted to, but the gardens were so nice, and the bird life so varied, that I just couldn't tear myself away. Oh well, next time.

We toured the site and were amazed at the house and it's history. The grounds surrounding the area were beautiful but we missed most of the flowers in bloom.

The house is beautiful and a huge bonus are the grounds: very pretty with diverse plants and trees. We learned a lot by walking the grounds.

We visited in March after the daffodils were dying away and before the main flowering plants and trees came into bloom. Even so, it was possible to enjoy the parkland and envisage how beautiful they would be later in the year. I imagine that Summer and Autumn would be incredible here. Worth a visit if you want a restful period... More

We went on a group tour and the grounds are incredibly beautiful. The staff was very knowledgeable about what plants were what and what the flowers were. We also played games that helped us get to know each other. These games were organized by the Lockerly staff and were really fun.

This place has an elabarate amount of vegetation on the property. The Expert that operates this place and the greenhouse and grounds name is Greg. We were taken on a tour of the grounds along with seeing the many plants in the greenhouse. There is even a Venus Fly trap. Great Place.
