You get the history of the island from learning how this church was built, and how it has endured so many years. The docent was very knowledgeable and friendly. I love that this is more than a preserved historical site, but it is still a home church and place of worship.

The cemetery is fascinating and so many old markers. The oldest one I saw was 1777! The grounds are beautifully maintained and the church building is beautiful! I would recommend comfortable shoes. I would also pick a cooler day since much of the sights are outside.

While the exterior looks subdued and simple, the inside architectural details will astound any visitor. Beautifully preserved with minute details in the walls and ceilings. The docent was very knowledgeable and offered experienced advice, pointing out details that I would have overlooked otherwise. make sure to walk around and visit the cemetery, which contains a lot of recognizable names in... Detoured into Saint Simons Island just to see this church. Beautiful grounds. A huge Hickory just out behind the church had recently blown over when Matthew came through. Sad. Never seen table like grave stones before..

The church itself is lovely - the stained glass is beautiful. Rich history here at the church and in the cemetery. I would return just to explore the grounds longer.

Visit this place on the way to the old town that is being explored now. There is a cemetery that you walk around in and the church built before 1800 is great to see

This is a must see! This historic old church is very interesting and beautiful. It has been used as a place of worship beginning in 1736. There is an interesting cemetery on the church grounds also.

If John Wesley is a spiritual icon for you, you should come here for a service. This is ground zero for the United Methodist church. Make sure and tour the ancient cemetery.

Hours are after 2 P M. Christ Church has so much interesting history . We found this out after taking the Orange Trolley ride with Rod. We were there early and could only go through some of cemetery and look around outside of church. Repairs were being made from Hurricane Matthew.
