We just did the hiking trails, and not the "park," per se. I believe parking cost $16 and then you can hike any of the many available trails you want at no further cost. We did... read more

Wonderful outdoor hiking and views. Excellent place for joggers and bicyclers. The train and boat rides were closed during our visit which occurred in February. There was no notice when entering the park, however. Be prepared to see a lot of Confederate attractions and memorabilia. The lady behind the desk at the large Confederate Hall does not raise her head... More

We just did the hiking trails, and not the "park," per se. I believe parking cost $16 and then you can hike any of the many available trails you want at no further cost. We did the 1-mile uphill walk to the summit of the mountain. This trail in itself was not very scenic because it is basically a misshapen... More

Hadn't been to Stone Mountain in years. Tons of walking and biking trails. Walked up the mountain on back side for first time. Beautiful covered bridge near the grist mill.

Stone Mountain itself is awesome & a piece of history to see! But in Feb. I don't think it should cost $15 to Park our car & then have to pay more to see the Museums - which were the only 2 things open, except for the 2 short films. We didn't go in the Museums but the films were... More

We hiked up the mountain hoping to see a great view, and we got it! We made it to the top just as the sun was setting. We were able to see the Atlanta skyline as the sun was setting. The hike was steep at times, but there was railing to help with the climb during the final assent. We... More

I don't know the last time I have been so disappointed in a trip attraction. It costs $15 just to get in the main gate. When we got to a viewing spot the carving was a real let down and it was hard to find a spot without an obstruction. The carving was so much smaller than expected. Lee, Jackson... More

Stone mountain is a great hiking and picnic place, especially on days of nice weather (no rain) during Atlanta. We hiked up the trail which was a lot of fun - it is slightly strenuous if you are not used to walking. So bring some energy bars and a lot of water. The view from the top are well worth... More

Although we visited during the "off" season we still enjoyed our visit. The weather was a beautiful warm sunny day and we are able to get out and walk quite a bit, sit by the lake and simply relax with nature. There are quite a few attractions in the park to enjoy even during the "off" season and it is... More

We visited Stone Mountain Park in February - nearly all of the "attractions" are closed for the winter, but that did not deter from the beauty - historical and natural - of Stone Mountain. The park is not huge in acreage, but the "mountain" is like a large - I should say gigantic mound of rock. Let me put this... More
