We really enjoyed touring the lighthouse, including the view from the top. The steps were doable for even our 5 year old. The history is really interesting, the staff wonderfully helpful and knowledgeable.

We made our visit to Tybee, and discovered the lighthouse is closed on Tuesdays. You can still park and walk around and take pictures and see it fairly close up! It's still worth the visit with it closed. There is a restaurant close by, and...More

This isn't as much of a review as it is a reminder to myself to stop climbing to the top of lighthouses. I thought I was in decent shape. Got to the top and remembered my fear of heights.

The admission cost goes a long way. You can see the keepers cottages, explore the lighthouse museum, explore military barracks, and climb to the top of the lighthouse. The facility is very well maintained and clean. We spent a little over an hour. You can...More

The island itself is nothing but the usual overdeveloped coastal island. Absolutely nothing but made in China shops and motels. So you'd think that the folks of Tybee would want their main attraction easy to find, but you'd be wrong. The lighthouse grounds are nice,...More
