This is an impressive lighthouse and campus. Many informational displays and videos, in addition to visitors are able to climb the 140+ steps to the top. A very well-run operation. It's in great shape, is still operational and has a first order Fresnel lens, which means it is one of the biggest glass lenses in the country. The views are... More

This is a beautiful lighthouse!!! The keeper's hose, kitchen, etc. are very well maintained and the museum was very impressive. The gift shop was great!! I am a lighthouse enthusiast so I came away with a sweatshirt, coffee mug, and a cap. We live too far away to come back to climb the lighthouse so I wish it had been... More

This was a stop we made at the last minute, and I'm so glad we did. The light house was open and we stepped up to the top with only a little huffing and puffing, they do 25 steps at a time and a window to look out of, and before you know it your at the top with beautiful... More

The lighthouse is closed right now so you can't go up. I'm sure the view is neat. However, given the admission prices I doubt we would have gone up anyway. Parking is "pay to park" like most of Savannah/Tybee. Fort Screven is right there too. Forget about going up on St Pats day. This whole area is shutting down for... More

I stopped here to go into the lighthouse but discovered it is closed until March 18 for repairs and restoration. That was disappointing, however, I did tour the other historic buildings to learn about the history of the area. The information here was great and almost made up for not getting to go up in the lighthouse.

We visited on 3/11 but the lighthouse was not open for tours, we understand it re-open on 3/18. There was ample parking and the exterior is very well maintained.

We were disappointed on arriving to learn that due to repairs, the lighthouse is closed until March 18, so you can't climb it. The admission is slightly reduced. The rest of the buildings are open. The place is immaculately maintained, and the keeper's house, kitchen, etc. are very well reconstructed.

We visited while the lighthouse was under renovations so we didn't get to climb up to the top. We were aware when we made the reservations. It was still worth it though. We got a guided tour of the house and grounds and learned some history about it. It is a really beautiful area. Will visit again so we can... More

90 foot high old historical lighthouse. This is worth a visit if only for some outside pictures. Paid parking.
