I was surprised at how wide and nice this beach was...and how many people were NOT on it. I think we saw maybe twenty people total, as we rode our bikes along the waterline on the hard-packed sand. The water is calm, and it is sort of bizarre to see the huge container ships and freighters go by...they don't look... More

What you will love is watching the boats, pelicans, dolphins on the river and the SAND is easy to walk on. This was never crowded and perfect for sunrise and sunset. Very peaceful.

I love this area. The beach in front of Savannah Beach and Racquet Club is nice. You can watch the Dolphins swim and the cargo ships go by. During shrimping season the shrimp boats sometimes dock right in front of the condos and it is neat watching the birds and dolphins around the boat. Rent a paddleboard and get closer... More

We visited the week prior to Labor Day and there were no crowds. On several occasions we were the only beach goers in sight. The sand is fluffy white from the dune to the tide line, then becomes damp and hard-packed. It is wide! The bottom was soft and silty to the toes. As an added bargain you can watch... More

We love this beach area. It's quieter with much fewer people than the main beach. There aren't big waves, but there's enough tide or whatever to be fun. You can watch the dolphins play and also watch the shrimp boats and container ships go back and forth.

We love it in this area - from the Savannah River Beach to the North Beach area, but especially in the area of Savannah Beach and Racquet Club. Since you are on the river, there aren't a lot of big waves unless you get down where the river meets the ocean, in the Lighthouse Point condo area. Actually, sometimes the... More

We really enjoyed this very clean beach. It wasn't overly crowded. It was peaceful and charming. Nice sand and no major drop offs while in the water

I love sitting on the shore watching the large cargo ships go by, the dolphins jumping, and birds flying. No waves. Absolutely perfect.

Great beach for exploring tide pools and marine life. Have seen snails, crabs, many shells and some dolphins playing out on the river. The waves are very mild but this side of Tybee Island definitely has a beach feel to it. It has not been crowded all week and other visitors have been families of all types.
