Tybee Island Marine Science Center was a great way to spend some time while our little one was sleeping back at the condo. It was only $5 per person when we went and we got to see many different sea animals, including baby sea turtles! The kids loved it! They also have a touch tank! It is small, but packed... More

Small facility staffed by very enthusiastic employees and volunteers. Recommend the behind-the-scenes husbandry tour. Tybee takes their conservation efforts seriously and you can see that when you visit. Recommended.

I took my class (self-contained high support Autism class) to Tybee yesterday 5/9/17 to participate in an educational program though the Science Center. To be honest this was our first field trip that would put us near the ocean and I was anxious, however our experience was absolutely amazing due to the staff at the Science Center. Our educator Joy... More

This is a quick brief view of marine life in Tybee Island. The big feature is the sea turtle, Ike. Takes about 30 to 45min to look at everything. They also give you zn opportunity to have your children to touch shell fish. It is really 4/5, however the customer service pushed to a 5/5.

Good morning, Ike is an endangered loggerhead sea turtle. He hatched on September 22, 2015 from Nest #62 on Ossabaw Island and weighed just over a half of an ounce. Now he's a big boy. Just so you know, we don’t really know if Ike is a boy or a girl. With loggerhead sea turtles you can’t tell until they... More

We planned the Barrier Island Patch Program and chose our activities - the guided gallery tour, beach walk, and sand sifting. The kids loved it! They learned a lot about local marine life and even got to meet (and name) a newly rescued turtle! They named him "Scout". Perfect! The guides were great - they knew their stuff and you... More

This is a small science center located in the parking lot of the Tybee Island beach. Our family spent about 30-45 minutes here. It is worth the price of admission to the see the marine life and read about their habitats. We really enjoyed seeing the baby turtles!

Marine center offers programs throughout the day, but we missed most of them by the time we arrived. It was $5 per person to get in, but there isn't much to see...it's a very small building with many small aquariums where you can view various sea life. I think it's more geared toward the younger crowd, 2 to 6 years... More
