It was excellent. Tricky getting in but we managed, took the wrong loop. Once installed, the view is the lake was breathtaking! Will definitely return when we are in that neck of the woods.

It's great for a family day. We go to grill, let the kids play at the park, do a nature walk, swim, and fish. Fish don't bite much but it's still fun. The swimming area is small and roped off but good for cooling off...More

We spend the last day of our Family Reunion at this park, It was nice, very large. We had a indoor parvillion which was very nice. We were very close to the bathrooms. The lake was to die for. Overall a nice experience.

Great quiet well maintained golf course in Georgia. Fairly typical state park golf course so nothing fancy but the course is well maintained, the staff is super friendly and the clubhouse and pro shop are well stocked and professional. Recommend this course. Was very quiet...More

A great campground with first class camping facilities for a nice quiet weekend or week. They have a good playground for the kids and a nice lake for boating or fishing. We also walked the nature trail and enjoyed our stay.

The sportsmen cabins are amazing. 2 bedroom with pull out couch enough to sleep 6 ppl comfortably. The water at sunrise is beautiful. We caught bluegills and nice sized catfish. Very relaxing

They fish early in the mornings but it's more of a boating lake in my opinion.
We're going to be staying there in June, playing four rounds. Below is a review from September, 2015. My questions are (1) Was this an accurate description of conditions in September, and (2) What are conditions now? Thank you, Roger Landers Went to try the golf course at Laura S Walker State Park. The green fees were a good value ($29.00 for 18 holes with cart). The driving range, practice green for chipping and practice green for putting were excellent. The greens were excellent and contoured. The only negative is the rough. It is some squishy thick grass that you cannot hit out of. If you are an inch out of the fairway you will only be able to punch a shot out. This squishy grass also surrounds the greens. I lost 5 balls that hit in the fairway and rolled into this crud. You cannot see your ball until you are standing directly over it. When we talked to the maintenance workers they said they had wanted to have a 1st cut after the fairway ended but the superintendent said no.

I've played the golf course a few times and like it. I don't remember anything about the rough being extra squishy, but then again, I'm used to it. You have to remember, we are in the swamp. All grass here is "squishy... More
