We visited on a Thursday, in part because that is discounted entry day for everyone. On a 50degree Feb day it was fairly busy, again it was discount day. I appreciated that the zoo seems to have a real commitment to supporting worldwide conservation efforts;...More

Very few people here, and animals were out from their shelters moving around. Looking forward to their planned expansion to give a more modern facility to their monkeys. Giraffes were out and about, and we caught the penguin feeding time. Darn geese were everywhere honking...More

Zoo Boise in in the middle of a great park right next to downtown Boise. It is a small to medium zoo, maybe 12-15 acres, great selection of animals. Very walkable in 2-3 hours. Really enjoyed the Giraffe and Lion exhibits and food was good....More

I visited in Mid-January 2018. The weather was foggy, cold, damp with intermittent snow showers. I think this would probably be rated as a very good zoo. 90% of the animals had chosen to be inside so there was not much to see. The staff...More

Great experience. Enjoyed the walk and were able to see most as the animals. Clean and staff was very friendly.

If you’re in the Boise area with some time to kill you should definitely add this attraction to your itinerary! The zoo is only $7 and it’s well worth the money considering it houses most of the same animals some zoos charge $20-30 to enter!...More

Zoo Boise seems to be very active in wildlife conservation activities and is updating its exhibits from the older, charming-but-outdated enclosures. The giraffe and penguin encounters were great fun. This is a wonderful zoo to enjoy with children because it's adjacent to a huge park,...More

Once you accept the fact that you will be viewing captive animals in cages outside of their native habitats (which can be a bit depressing), you may find this zoo to be a pleasant place to spend an afternoon. It's fairly small--which makes it quite...More

It's a small zoo, which, yeah, kind of sad the animals live that way, but for Boise, it is a great place to spend the afternoon with children.
