Great little zoo

My husband and I spent a few hours here. It's not too big and there was a nice array of animals to see, including a Wallaby walk. Everything from penguins to tigers. A nice zoo... read more

Overall the experience was fun. It was sad to see some of the animals in such small cages and the bathrooms were not very wheelchair friendly. Some of the paths were a bit difficult to maneuver the wheelchair as well. My children did love the river boat and the concession was not over priced. I would definitely go again and... More

My husband and I spent a few hours here. It's not too big and there was a nice array of animals to see, including a Wallaby walk. Everything from penguins to tigers. A nice zoo to take kids or adults and parking is free - though it gets crowded so you may want to go early or later in the... More

Parking is not easy here, and I worried about the 2 hour parking limit, but it turned out to be just the right amount of time.

Great for families with small children. Located in a beautiful park near the river. It could be a full afternoon of fun for little kids.

Zoo Boise is a small zoo which does feature a wide variety of animal species. Many of the animal exhibits involve cramped cages. We would have preferred to see more of the animals in larger, natural habitat enclosures.

Zoo Boise's mission links with restoration of wildlife in Africa as well as restoration of burned foothills above Boise. The zoo is expanding its land and exhibits. It is alive with visitors and culling out stale exhibits. Go Zoo Boise!

Pros: My kids oohed and aahed over all the creatures in this zoo. This is a nice smaller zoo with easy walking and lots to see. Even "giant rabbits" for our bunny fanatic daughter. (As a Monty Python fan, of course, my trust of rabbits is limited due to their sharp, pointy...never mind.) The nicest part was being able to... More

Small zoo. Not too busy and could see a variety of animals. Not impressive but it was a relaxing stroll. We had a nice walk, visited, and enjoyed the animals. Our favorites were the red panda, sloth bear, primates, and anteaters.

Nice, small zoo that needs updated. There is a plan for expansion in 2019. Much needed from what we saw. Old style cages with thick wire for the smaller animals and some open air spaces needed grass trimmed just to know the space was occupied! Map hard to follow, kept getting lost and finally just gave up and wandered. Don't... More
