In town visiting family and being a tourist. This is a hidden gem with regional history. Self guided tour. Be sure to allow plenty of time.

We travel with our dogs and they weren’t allowed in. We were able to see the women’s ward and walk around the outside but that was it. Staff was not very friendly. Other people did seem to enjoy the tour. Definitely interesting, even for the...More

Really interesting self guided tour of the place. Would not want to have to serve time there and some of the buildings are just creepy!

I guess I wasn’t expecting much but was quite impressed. We were a litttle late for the last tour so remember to call to find out what time the tour is (I forgot). The tour guide told great stories. If I would have thought about...More

Most of the tour is at ground level on level paved surface. one or two areas are up stairs, but you can go around them. If you go during summer, check the temp. and bring a bottle of water.
